Victim of motorcycle crash near Pekin, North Dakota, dies of injuries
Jul. 29—GRAND FORKS — A Cooperstown, North Dakota, man who was involved in a motorcycle crash earlier this month has died of his injuries.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reported Monday afternoon that Ricky Howatt, 63, died Saturday, July 27, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
The incident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. on July 20, on North Dakota Highway 1, near Pekin, a town west of Grand Forks and southeast of Devils Lake. Howatt was driving a 2000 Harley Davidson northbound on Highway 1 when the bike overturned, throwing Howatt. He was not wearing a helmet, according to the NDHP.
