NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A video from a Louisiana news conference is now going viral of a girl fainting next to Gov. Jeff Landry as he signs the controversial Ten Commandments bill.

Video of the girl fainting is now circulating all over social media, and even several National late-night talk shows have shown the video. In the video, you can see bystanders attending to the girl to make sure she is all right after she fainted and fell.

Louisiana’s Ten Commandments – in Arabic?

In a statement from Kate Kelly, the director of communications with the Office of Governor Jeff Landry, she wrote “The girl is fine. The Governor and First Lady met with her after.”

Last Wednesday, Louisiana became the first state to require that the Ten Commandments be displayed in all public school classrooms under the new bill.

The new legislation was written up by the GOP and mandates that a poster-sized display of the Ten Commandments be in “large, easily readable font” and are required in all public classrooms, from kindergarten up to state universities.

Opponents question the law’s constitutionality, warning that lawsuits are likely to soon follow.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
