Video shows man leave 3-year-old on Florida sidewalk after carjacking child’s mom

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit shared a video showing a man leaving a 3-year-old on a sidewalk after he carjacked the child’s mother.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office said it received a call reporting a stolen vehicle in Oakland Park around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators said a mother and her 3-year-old daughter were involved in a crash with another vehicle. When the mother exited her car to exchange information with the other driver, deputies said an unknown man jumped into her car and began to drive away with the woman’s daughter inside.

Investigators said the mother grabbed onto the front passenger door of her vehicle and yelled to the suspect that her daughter was in the car. Deputies said the mother was dragged before she fell to the ground as the man drove away.
