George Clooney was one of the most notable Joe Biden donors who came out and asked for him to drop out of the 2024 presidential race, and now The View’s Ana Navarro has some words for him.

After Biden confirmed he was out of the running for re-election in this year’s elections, Navarro called on Clooney to make a sizeable donation after his wish came true.

“I was sad in the way when you see a champion athlete retire [and] leave it all on the field and walk away into the sunset. That made me say, it gave me nostalgia,” Navarro said about her feelings after finding out Biden had quit the presidential race.

Navarro also noted that she was “also mad because [Biden] has been dragged relentlessly for three weeks by some people who supposedly were his friends.”

“I hope that a lot of those donors that went out and said all sort of things about him come back with a big check now,” Navarro said before looking straight into the camera and saying, “George Clooney es contigo [This is for you].”

Sara Haines pushed back on Navarro, calling out Clooney for criticizing Biden’s staying in the race after the presidential debate, in which his ability to preside over the country was questioned.

“There is room for criticism when you’re talking about the biggest job in the world, and I don’t think those people that are friends, even George Clooney’s op-ed, was really touching and beautifully written saying, ‘This is hard to say out loud.’ So a lot of those people were torn themselves and a party, is not a president, it’s an entire party and every election matters down that ballot as well,” Haines said. “They were allowed to also speak up for their constituents. So, I commend the people that took that risk and said, ‘We need to do this.’ Because I do think that began some very hard conversations.”

On Sunday, July 21, Biden announced he would not accept the Democratic Party’s nomination to run for a second term as president. Soon after his announcement, Biden endorsed Kamala Harris as the Democratic Presidential nominee. Hollywood detractors like Damon Lindelof and Aaron Sorkin made statements supporting Harris for president, with donors being “excited and motivated” with the change in presidential nominee to defeat Donald Trump in November.
