VSP issues senior alert for missing 82-year-old man

ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR)– Virginia State Police have issued a senior alert and are searching for 82-year-old George Donald Lemay.

According to state police, Lemay was last seen on Wednesday, July 17 in his vehicle on I-81 in Rockbridge County near mile marker 178.

VSP describes Lemay as a white man who is 5’7″ and weighs 170 lbs with brown eyes and grey hair. Police say he may be seen wearing blue jeans, steel-toe boots, a blue/red flannel sweatshirt, and a greenish-brownish sweatshirt underneath.

Police believe he is possibly driving a tan 1998 Ford F-150 pickup with a temporary Vermont license plate number W00840J.

Lemay reportedly suffers from a cognitive impairment issue and VSP says his disappearance poses a credible threat to his health and safety.
