According to a Walton County Sheriff’s Office X post, deputies on July 3 arrested a female accused of possession of a controlled substance.

The sheriff’s office used its new digital body scanner, which is equipped with narcotic detection software, to scan the female once she arrived at the Walton County jail.

“The scan identified an abnormal change in color on the body scan suggesting contraband, the WCSO post said. “The inmate was then strip searched by two female @WCSOFL detention deputies, which she produced Fentanyl from a body cavity.”

She was then charged with the introduction of contraband into a detention facility, according to the post.

“Per Florida State Statute 901.211, all individuals admitted on capital felonies, violent felonies, and felony drug charges are required to undergo a strip search,” the post said. “Additionally, all individuals being booked at the Walton County Jail are scanned with the digital body scanner before being accepted into the facility.”
