Smoke from an abandoned warehouse fire was seen rising over the CMA Fest crowd in downtown Nashville on Saturday afternoon, but was not on the festival grounds.

The fire was reported around 3:30 p.m. in the 100 block of North 1st Street, near Nissan Stadium. The building was "fully involved" as crews arrived, the Nashville Fire Department said.

North 1st Street was blocked as multiple crews worked to contain and extinguish the blaze. The blockage caused some traffic diversions around Nissan Stadium for Saturday night's CMA Fest shows.

Shortly after 7 p.m., NFD said the fire was out and a search of the area for anyone inside the warehouse turned up empty.

"Cadaver K9s have been requested to the scene to thoroughly check the areas covered in debris that responders cannot access," a tweet from NFD said.
