Watch bear walk onto the Truckee High School football field during practice

This big bruiser might have a shot at starting spot on the defensive line.

A video captured a black bear walking across the Truckee High football field Thursday where the two-time defending Nevada state football championship team was practicing.

The episode was captured and posted on the team’s Instagram account.

“The possibilities at a football practice in Truckee are vast ... snow, lightning storms, hail, coyotes taking out voles or maybe the birds of prey swooping down on the varmints … or a Black Bear making his way through old wetlands of Meadow Lake,” the Truckee football team posted to its Instagram account.

Players stopped practicing and slowly moved out of the bear’s path to let it pass through.

Truckee is in Northern California near Lake Tahoe, but the Wolverines are part of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association.
