Watching November's elections? Delaware County voters should register, check status

MUNCIE — Delaware County residents interested in voting in November need to make sure they are registered.

Here's how to check voter registration status, and how to register if needed.

Am I registered to vote in Delaware County?

Voters can visit indianavoters.in.gov to check the status of their registration.

You will be asked to enter your first and last name, date of birth and county of residence.

How can I register to vote in Delaware County?

If a resident is not registered to vote, there are a couple of ways to do so.

On the same website, indianavoters.in.gov, residents can enter their information in an online form to register to vote.

Voters can also apply to register at the local office at 100 W. Main St., Room 104, Muncie. Regular hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

What do I need to be eligible to register to vote?

  • Be a citizen of the United States

  • Have a valid Indiana driver's license or Indiana state identification card

  • Be a least 18 years old on the day of the next election

  • Have lived in your precinct for at least 30 days before the next election - this does not apply to military voters

  • Not currently be incarcerated after being convicted of a crime

When is the voter registration deadline?

Voters must be registered by end of business Oct. 7 if applying person, or by midnight if registering online.
