Wetmore man arrested for child sex crimes

WETMORE (KSNT) – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) has arrested a Wetmore man for multiple child sex crimes.

Just after 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, KBI agents arrested a 51-year-old Wetmore man. The man was arrested on the following counts:

  • Four counts of aggravated incident liberties with a child rape

  • Two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy

Earlier this year, The Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office started investigating the case after a child disclosed sexual abuse. After that incident, the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office requested the help of the KBI to investigate the incident. As the investigation progressed, additional allegations of sex crimes were discovered.

The man arrested was booked into the Nemaha County jail, with a bond of $500,000.
