What's open and closed in Wisconsin during July Fourth 2024?

Many businesses across the country will shutter their doors on Independence Day — but that doesn’t mean you’re out of options if you need some last-minute groceries, beach supplies or anything in between for your celebrations.

Plenty of major groceries and retailers are staying open through Fourth of July, alongside some local stores which are offering adjusted hours for the holiday.

Here’s what’s open and closed in Wisconsin tomorrow:

Grocery stores and restaurants open on July 4:

  • Aldi will be open with shortened holiday hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Trader Joe’s will be open with shortened holiday hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Whole Foods will be open with shortened holiday hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Walmart is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. at all locations.

  • Sendik’s stores will be open but hours may vary by location. Contact your local store for specific hours.

  • Woodman’s will be open but hours may vary by location. Contact your local store for specific hours.

  • Colectivo is open during normal hours. Check the hours at your local cafe here.

  • McDonald’s will be open. Look up locations near you for specific hours.

  • Chick-fil-A will be open, but hours may vary by location. Contact your local store to check hours.

Retail stores open on July 4:

  • Target is open, with store hours varying by location. In the Milwaukee area, stores will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • CVS is open, but in-store pharmacies will have shortened hours for the holiday. Look up your local store here for specific hours.

  • Walgreens is open during regular hours at your local store, but in-store pharmacies will be closed.

  • Lowe’s will be open with shortened holiday hours from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Home Depot will be opened with shortened holiday hours, which may vary by location. In the Milwaukee area, stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Milwaukee attractions open on July 4:

  • Milwaukee Art Museum will be open with shortened hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Milwaukee County Zoo will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with discounted $4 tickets for the Fourth of July.

  • The Harley Davidson Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Businesses that are closed on July 4:

  • The Milwaukee Public Market will be closed.

  • The 3rd St. Market Hall will be closed.

  • Lakefront Brewery will be closed.

  • The United States Postal Service will be closed and pausing mail delivery and pick-up.

  • UPS will pause pick-up and delivery services.

  • Branches of Capital One, Bank of America, PNC, Truist, CitiBank and JPMorgan Chase will be closed

  • Costco locations will be closed.
