On Monday night — two days after surviving an assassination attempt — former President Donald Trump made his first public appearance at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. Trump was officially named the Republican presidential nominee and announced JD Vance as his vice presidential running mate.

In a somewhat bizarre twist for Trump's 2024 campaign, there one was person who was noticeably absent for Trump's nomination — former first lady Melania Trump.

Melania Trump issued a press release Sunday on X, formerly Twitter, following the assassination attempt on her husband:

Melania Trump was absent during day one of the RNC and is not scheduled to be a speaker. She has been quiet on social media and has not made a public appearance since last month, just days after the former president called Milwaukee "a horrible city," according to a report from Newsweek.

Despite Melania's absence, Amber Rose praised the former first lady during her speech Monday at the convention. Early reports indicted that Melania Trump would be present to watch her husband accept his nomination for presidency for the third time, but she hasn't made an official appearance yet in Milwaukee.

Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, Trump's sons, are scheduled to speak during the RNC. So are Lara Trump, Trump's daughter-in-law, and Trump's soon-to-be-daughter-in-law, Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is Donald Trump Jr.'s fiancée.

It's unknown when, or whether, Melania Trump will arrive in Milwaukee for the rest of the RNC.

Eric Trump and Tiffany Trump were in attendance on night two of the convention when the former president arrived.

Daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner are expected on the last day of the convention, Thursday.

Ivanka Trump is currently not on the list of speakers for the event.
