Wichita Falls plant nursery wins top honors

Smith’s Gardentown of Wichita Falls has again been named one of the top 100 Garden Centers in North America.

The list of independent garden centers is compiled by Garden Center Magazine each year, based on the individual companies’ sales.

“This is particularly significant because Smith’s Gardentown is probably the only garden center on the list that has only one location in a market as small as the Wichita Falls area,” said Michael Fiore, president of the 75-year-old family business.

Only five garden centers in Texas made the list, and all the others are located in Austin, Dallas or Houston.

Fiore said he believes the latest honor makes six times Smith's has been named to the top 100.

“This is a certainly a tribute to our great customers and professional staff,” he said.

Fiore represents the fourth generation of the family to operate the company.
