LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Lansing Police Department has opened an investigation at a downtown Lansing business after someone shot out the store’s front window Tuesday night.

The owners of the store, Young Brothers and Daley, told 6 News that it was all caught on camera.

“Well, we woke up this morning and checked our cameras, and noticed that our window behind me had been shot,” said Lori Williams, one of the owners.

Lori says she arrived at work on Wednesday morning on Michigan Avenue only to be greeted by shattered glass.

“A gentleman very haphazardly riding a bicycle directly aimed at our window and shot our window out,” said Lori. “We are six blocks east of the Capitol, just down from the police department. It was very disturbing because it was like he was aiming in several different directions.”

The incident happened at around 11:30 Tuesday night. The store was closed and nobody was inside at the time.

“They usually come back to the scene of the crime, and I’m sure he’s out there riding his bicycle,” said Lori. “Just one tip will help the police and us.”

The business has filed a report with the Lansing Police Department.

“Hopefully they can identify the person and take the person off the streets,” said Brad Williams, one of the owners.

Although they don’t know how much the window will cost to replace, the owners told 6 News they’re worried the shooting might deter customers.

“There is a lot of foot traffic in this area on a normal evening,” said Brad.
