Woman faces charges for aggravated serious injury by vehicle

Jul. 18—A 33-year-old Sanford woman faces two aggravated felony charges of committing a serious injury by vehicle.

Ashley Nicole Truitt was indicted Dec. 5, 2022. According to the indictment, she caused serious injury to Barbara Rouhier-Wallace and Seth Wallace while driving impaired on Franklin Drive.

Truitt is also charged with driving while impaired, driving with a revoked license (impaired) and reckless driving, all misdemeanors, and driving left of center and failure to wear a seatbelt, which are traffic infractions.

Truitt has a prior conviction for driving impaired, a court document states. That conviction was on Aug. 3, 2017 in Orange County.

Truitt, who was released on a $50,000 unsecured bond, has an administrative hearing set for July 18 in Lee County Superior Court.
