Woman sues Disney after sustaining ‘permanent injuries’ in ‘stampede’ at Magic Kingdom
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Pennsylvania woman is suing Walt Disney Parks and Resorts after she was allegedly pushed over during a “stampede” at the resort’s Magic Kingdom park in Florida, leaving her with permanent injuries.
The woman, Debra O’Steen, said the park was “packed” and “extremely busy” when the incident occurred.
According to the lawsuit, O’Steen was walking on Main Street, just north of Casey’s Corner restaurant, when a crowd rushed her and knocked her over in a “stampede” due to an event starting soon.

The woman claimed she was left with permanent injuries and has since suffered from mental anguish, loss of wages, and loss of ability to lead and enjoy a normal life, as well as enduring medical expenses, the lawsuit stated.
According to the plaintiff, it was Disney’s responsibility to “maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition” and “warn of any dangerous conditions about which it knew or should have known about.”
O’Steen said Disney not only “breached its non-delegable duty” by failing to correct a dangerous condition via crowd control, but also failed to warn her of any dangerous conditions.
The woman, who was at the park as a business invitee, is suing the company for $50,000, according to the lawsuit.
