Woodland murder suspect arrested after fleeing to Mexico

(FOX40.COM) — The suspect of a 2020 murder in Woodland that fled to Mexico was arrested on Tuesday, according to the Woodland Police Department.

Dennis Jaramillo, 20, fled the United States to Mexico in 2020 while the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office was gathering details for their prosecution.

Jaramillo is suspected of murdering Issac Morales on Jan. 9, 2020.

Utilizing FBI resources, Yolo County law enforcement agencies learned that Jaramillo had reentered the United States and was reported to be in Colusa County.

At 6 a.m. on Tuesday, several law enforcement agencies converged on Jaramillo’s last known location and arrested him.

He was booked into the Yolo County Jail and is facing charges for murder and participating in a criminal street gang.

The Yolo County Sheriff’s Department, Yolo County Probation and the Sacramento FBI Field Office assisted in the capture of Jaramillo.
