Bernie Sanders has insisted he still “has a shot” of securing the Democratic nomination and defeating Donald Trump after Joe Biden launched an unexpected comeback on Super Tuesday in the party's presidential primary. The Vermont senator's comment came as the latest delegate count in the Democratic primary showed Mr Sanders close to the former vice president. Some political analysts have suggested the senator only needs to win a few percentage points more of the remaining delegates than Mr Biden to secure the nomination.

CINCINNATI, Ohio – A city 911 call-taker has been suspended after officials say the call-taker "violated multiple established" procedures during a call about a man who died in January from a stroke. "What took place on the night of Jan. 12 is nothing short of a tragedy," City Manager Patrick Duhaney said in an email to City Council members. "It's unclear if the individual would have lived or died, but the actions of this call-taker undermined the possibility of a positive outcome in this situation."

Eight percent of Iran's parliament — 23 out of 290 members — has been infected with the coronavirus. At least seven government officials also have it, including one of Iran's vice presidents, and a key adviser to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has died from the virus. Iran is descending into chaos amid the coronavirus outbreak, with the government seemingly incapable of handling the scale of the crisis and going as far as to threaten the death penalty to those who hoard necessary materials or equipment.
The painful end of Chris Matthews' TV career occurred with just the sort of recrimination and negative PR that former Washington local news anchor and failed Democratic House candidate Kathleen Matthews, his wife of 40 years, and their adult children long hoped to avoid. According to sources at MSNBC, Kathleen had communicated concerns over the past several months to network chief Phil Griffin, Chris's long-ago Hardball executive producer when the show aired on CNBC. She expressed worry that her husband's on-air controversies would become more frequent, more embarrassing, and more damaging to his legacy.

Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts on Wednesday criticized Senator Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) over comments the minority leader made in reference to an abortion case currently being debated by the court. “For Justice Roberts to follow the right wing's deliberate misinterpretation of what Senator Schumer said, while remaining silent when President Trump attacked Justices Sotomayor and Ginsberg last week, shows Justice Roberts does not just call balls and strikes,” a spokesperson for Schumer responded. Earlier Wednesday, Schumer appeared to threaten Republican justices.
Congress agreed to put a bipartisan emergency spending package to curb the spread of COVID-19 up for a House vote Wednesday, but it may get held up by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who wants to include an amendment to the bill. Paul, a deficit hawk, wants to ensure the U.S. has some way to fund the COVID-19 package, so he's trying to sneak a foreign aid cut in there. Paul is confident he'll get a vote, but he's prepared to stick around in Washington all weekend either way.

Ms Warren has only amassed 50 delegates so far, which is far behind frontrunners Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders on 453 and 382 delegates respectively.
In the latest twist on a key Trump administration immigration policy, a federal appeals court said it will prevent the government from making asylum-seekers wait in Mexico for U.S. court hearings starting next week unless the Supreme Court steps in sooner. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco said Wednesday that it would only block the “Remain in Mexico” policy in Arizona and California, the two border states under its authority. President Donald Trump's administration says it is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to intervene and had asked that the policy remain in effect until next week to give the high court time to decide.
SINGAPORE/SEOUL (Reuters) - Chinese authorities have told people to stay away from the border with North Korea, which has banned people from China to keep out the coronavirus, or risk being shot by North Korean guards, residents of the area said. Residents said the warning came in a printed notice that Chinese authorities in the area issued this week, the latest indication of how seriously North Korea takes the threat of the virus. Close allies China and North Korea share a 1,400-km (880-mile) frontier that is especially porous in winter, when rivers separating the countries freeze, allowing people to cross.

New York has reported two cases of the virus so far, but Gov. Andrew Cuomo said on Tuesday the state's testing capacity was still limited to "a couple of hundred tests per day." For the latest case total, death toll, and travel information, see Business Insider's live updates here.
And now a lawsuit filed in Delaware last spring alleges that a South Florida businessman named Uriel Laber played a key role in an alleged scheme by Kolomoisky to steal billions from that bank. Gabbard has had the most adversarial relationship with the debate rules set forth by the Democratic National Committee. There's just been a lack of transparency…lack of transparency means lack of trust in the process and that they're trying to take the power away from votes to actually be the ones to decide who continues to move forward in this campaign,” she said in September. From the first debates in June 2019 until this February, the DNC pegged qualification in the debates to two metrics: a threshold of individual donors, and polling average.

Getty Images/Westend61 One of the CDC's top pieces of advice for protecting yourself from the coronavirus is to stop touching your face, eyes, and mouth, but people are having trouble kicking the habit. That's because face-touching is a natural human habit, and like any habit, it can be difficult to break even when you know it's good for you to stop. We're conditioned to touch our own faces from a young age because it signals public self-awareness, psychologist and anxiety specialist Kevin Chapman told Business Insider.
