New US sanctions imposed on Iran on Monday target Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and senior military leaders of the Islamic republic. President Donald Trump slapped the sanctions on Tehran for what he described as its "aggressive behavior" including the shooting down of US drone. The White House said the sanctions "will deny Iran's leadership access to financial resources, blocking them from using the United States financial system or accessing any assets in the United States."

The recent oil tanker attacks in the Gulf of Oman reinforce the need to reestablish a highly visible U.S. naval deterrent in the Middle East. For eight months last year, no aircraft carrier strike group plied the region, the longest such interruption this millennium. With the United States needing a more robust posture against Iran and confronting renewed challenges in Asia and Europe, several immediate measures and concerted longer-term efforts are critical to ensure America has the carriers it needs.
Britain does not expect the United States to request that the United Kingdom joins a war with Iran and London would be unlikely to agree to join such a conflict, Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt said on Tuesday. "The U.S. is our closest ally, we talk to them the whole time, we consider any requests that they say carefully, but I cannot envisage any situation where they request or we agree to any moves to go to war," Hunt told parliament. The message we are sending with our partners in the European Union particularly the French and the Germans is that with respect to Iran's nuclear programme, this is a crucial week.

The listing was discovered in a parts-lookup configurator at Canadian Tire and was first reported by Off-Road.com. Aside from a few nonspecific leaks and a handful of camouflaged spy photos, Ford has done a commendable job of keeping a lid on the precise details pertaining to the new Ford Bronco.
Slowing global economic growth and demand concerns have WTI crude oil prices down more than 20% from a year ago. Oil investors were hoping for much higher prices in 2019 than the mid $50s per barrel, and the energy sector has once again lagged the market significantly this year. Bank of America analyst Doug Leggate recently lowered his oil price forecast for the second half of 2019 from $68 per barrel to $63, but Leggate says there are still plenty of value opportunities among oil stocks today.

For a few years now, high-ranking US intelligence officials warned that Huawei is a security threat for America and its allies. Its networking equipment can allegedly be used for spying operations against the West, and Huawei has been contesting these reports for as many years. Add to that the complex US-China trade war, and it's easy to see why Huawei has been in the spotlight lately.

We are having a very tough time dealing with damages in the finances as well as the crimes that were committed.
Senior White House adviser Jared Kushner said on Tuesday that prosperity for the Palestinians was not possible without a fair political solution - but that agreement on an economic way forward was a necessary precondition for Israeli-Palestinian peace. The skydiving plane that crashed this weekend in Hawaii, killing all 11 on board, was also involved in a frightening midair incident in Northern California three years before. Federal investigators are trying to determine why the twin-engine turboprop plane went down shortly after takeoff Friday, leaving a smoky pile of wreckage near the fence surrounding Dillingham Airfield northwest of Honolulu in the worst civil aviation accident in the U.S. since 2011. National Transportation Safety Board records show that same aircraft, built in 1967, stalled three times and spun another three during a 2016 skydiving flight in the eastern San Francisco Bay Area, forcing 14 skydivers to jump to safety.
Jeremy Hunt, the foreign secretary, told the Commons on Tuesday: "The US is our closest ally, we talk to them the whole time, we consider any requests that they say carefully, but I cannot envisage any situation where they request or we agree to any moves to go to war. A new tanker, which will of course modernize and sustain the refueling mission for the Air Force, is fundamental to the service's air superiority and rapid deployability priorities. The new KC-46A tanker will build upon the mission current tankers currently serve, meaning it will be forward- stationed at strategically vital locations around the globe to increase mission length and effectiveness, as needed, for a wide-range of aircraft, Air Force developers said. Extending the strike range of attack aircraft such as an F-15, F-35 or F-22 brings great tactical significance in a modern threat environment wherein long range strike weapons used by potential adversaries could make it challenging for the Air Force to base and launch fighters within the proper striking proximity.
In his race last year to unseat Sen. Ted Cruz, Beto O'Rourke saw remarkable support from African-Americans in Texas. Statewide 89 percent of black voters — including 94 percent of back women — supported O'Rourke's bid. Now, as he struggles to gain traction for his presidential bid, O'Rourke has brought onboard one of the architects of that impressive showing, Ian Wilhite, most recently a spokesperson for the LGBT nonprofit Lambda Legal.
Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade on Tuesday downplayed concerns about the squalid and appalling conditions within border immigration detention centers, saying that migrant children were “never going to have a Hyatt at the border. Amid reports that hundreds of immigrant children were recently removed from an overcrowded and filthy Texas border facility in which they'd been detained without soap, toothpaste or clean clothes, the Fox News morning show welcomed on acting ICE Director Mark Morgan to discuss the growing humanitarian crisis—a crisis Kilmeade has likened to the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
