The sheer scale of destruction caused by wildfires in California has been revealed in satellite images released by Nasa. More than 200 people were still missing on Monday in California’s deadliest and most destructive blaze on record, which is one of two fires raging in the state. A photo of the blaze, named Camp Fire by officials, was captured by the space agency’s Landsat 8 on Thursday 8 November, showing a huge plume of smoke rising from the fire hours after it first broke out.
The race to count Florida’s votes got even messier on Sunday as Gov. Rick Scott’s campaign filed a handful of lawsuits seeking to give law enforcement custody of election equipment and prevent certain ballots from being included in official results. A recount began Saturday in the U.S. Senate race between Scott, a Republican, and Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson. Scott narrowly leads Nelson by about 0.15 percentage points, well within the state’s 0.25 percent threshold for a manual recount.
Now you can get Tide detergent delivered right to your doorstep in a shoe box. In an effort to keep up with the growing demand for online deliveries, Tide’s parent company Procter & Gamble has launched the “Tide Eco-Box,” an eco-friendly container complete with a twist-to-open detergent valve, pull-out stand and measuring cup. Shipping the Tide Eco-Box even uses 60% less plastic than delivering an equivalent 150-ounce bottle of Tide, according to CNN, which means customers who purchase the new box can join the effort to save the environment by simply doing their laundry.
Stepping up Democratic efforts to shield the Russia investigation, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Sunday he would seek to tie a measure protecting special counsel Robert Mueller to must-pass legislation if acting attorney general Matthew Whitaker does not recuse himself from oversight of the probe. Schumer pointed to Whitaker's "history of hostile statements" toward the Mueller investigation. "If he stays there, he will create a constitutional crisis by inhibiting Mueller or firing Mueller.
Buried in French President Emmanuel Macron's speech on the sacrifice of "young men" in World War I Sunday was a reference to the "three million widows" the fallen soldiers left behind. The role women played in the war was only mentioned in passing as dozens of world leaders, including Angela Merkel of Germany, gathered in Paris to mark a century since WWI ended. Some in Russia fought in battalions.

Saudi Arabia, the world's top crude exporter, said Sunday it will cut oil output from next month, as major producers held a key meeting to discuss shoring up sliding prices. Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih announced the kingdom was cutting its supplies by 500,000 barrels per day from December. Oil prices have shed a fifth of their value in just one month after surging to a four-year high in early October, driven by a combination of factors centred on higher supply and fears of sluggish demand.

Pabst Brewing Company and MillerCoors are going to trial, with hipster favorite Pabst contending that MillerCoors wants to put it out of business by ending a longstanding partnership through which it brews Pabst's beers. The case has high stakes for Pabst, whose lawyers argue that the company's very existence relies on the partnership with Chicago-based MillerCoors, which produces, packages and ships nearly all its products, which include Pabst Blue Ribbon, Old Milwaukee, Natty Boh and Lone Star. MillerCoors, meanwhile, says it's not obligated to continue brewing for Pabst and that Pabst doesn't want to pay enough to justify doing so.
Local Mexican officials again helped thousands of Central American migrants find rides Sunday on the latest leg of their journey toward the U.S. border. At a toll plaza to the west of the central Mexico city of Queretaro, where the group spent Saturday night, police prevented migrants from waylaying trucks on their own, but officers did help them find vehicles for rides. WASHINGTON ― Two days after skipping a visit to an American military cemetery near Paris because it was raining, President Donald Trump called for effectively disenfranchising overseas military members voting in Florida, raising further questions about the draft-evading president’s commitment to the armed services. “The Florida Election should be called in favor of Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis in that large numbers of new ballots showed up out of nowhere, and many ballots are missing or forged,” Trump tweeted early on Monday, the observed Veterans Day holiday for the federal government. Scott and DeSantis are the GOP’s candidates for U.S. senator and governor in Florida whose election-night margins of victory have resulted in legally mandated recounts.
