A federal judge in Wisconsin ruled Wednesday that a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the father of a man shot and killed by Kyle Rittenhouse during a protest in 2020 can proceed against Rittenhouse, police officers and others. The father of Anthony Huber, one of two men shot and killed by Rittenhouse, filed the lawsuit in 2021, accusing officers of allowing for a dangerous situation that violated his son's constitutional rights and resulted in his death. Anthony Huber's father, John Huber, also alleged that Rittenhouse, who was 17 at the time of the shootings, conspired with law enforcement to cause harm to protestors.
Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton jokingly took supporters behind the scenes to one of the most infamous debate moments of the 2016 campaign. All three debates were marked by frequent outbursts from Donald Trump, but the second was particularly unusual as there were no lecterns and the candidates roamed the stage. That led to some odd body language ― as well as strange images that quickly turned into memes.

With the United States expected to send a new longer-range weapon to Ukraine, it has answered President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's plea for rockets that can strike deep behind the front lines of the nearly year-long conflict with Russia. Now Russian forces will need to adapt or face potentially catastrophic losses. The new weapon, the Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB), will allow Ukraine's military to hit targets at twice the distance reachable by the rockets it now fires from the U.S.-supplied High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS).

Jeffrey Fagan, a Columbia University law professor who is an expert on policing, told Yahoo News in an email that the details of the case call into question whether the use of lethal force was warranted.

MSNBC's Chris Hayes on Tuesday said far-right Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) “let the truth slip about what really motivated” serial liar Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) to step down from his House committee assignments. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) “tried to make it seem like stepping down was entirely Santos' idea and that it was just about the ongoing investigations into his campaign finances,” noted Hayes. Hayes then broadcast footage of Greene saying: “He just felt like that there was so much drama, really, over the situation, and especially what we're doing to work to remove [Minnesota Democratic Rep.] Ilhan Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee.”
The “micro bikini” from Kim Kardashian's SKIMS collection is taking a major beating on TikTok this week after one woman brilliantly illustrated just how impossibly tiny it really is. According to TikTok user @bbysarita's post, the barely-there bikini set leaves very little to the imagination — and might as well be like walking naked on the beach. “If you've been eyeing the SKIMS micro bikini and wondering about the size, these are tortilla chips for scale,” she says in the now-viral TikTok.

Putin was addressing a government meeting about restoring destroyed housing and infrastructure in regions of southwest Russia that border Ukraine. On July 1, the parole board denied Dunlap's request for a medical commutation, citing, in part, her 1976 first-degree murder conviction for fatally shooting a woman, and another conviction that year for her role in the group torture of a woman who was tied up, stabbed, shot and left for dead by the Detroit River. Dunlap had injected her with a "massive dose" of heroin laced with bleach that night, according to trial testimony, though the woman survived. Without elaborating, the parole board concluded Dunlap's request had no merit.

The elk slowed drivers and caused delays as wildlife officials tried to herd them back to the mountains.
Former President Donald Trump appears to have lied in sworn court records, opening him up to severe sanctions by a New York judge who has already lost his patience and threatened to punish him before. Trump claimed he wasn't the president of the Trump Organization during his four years at the White House, despite previously testifying that he was an “inactive president.” On Tuesday, the New York Attorney General's Office asked Justice Arthur F. Engoron to intervene quickly to ensure that the former president still faces a trial later this year that could bankrupt his company.

The dirty snowball last visited during Neanderthal times, according to NASA. Discovered less than a year ago, this harmless green comet already is visible in the northern night sky with binoculars and small telescopes, and possibly the naked eye in the darkest corners of the Northern Hemisphere. While plenty of comets have graced the sky over the past year, “this one seems probably a little bit bigger and therefore a little bit brighter and it's coming a little bit closer to the Earth's orbit,” said NASA's comet and asteroid-tracking guru, Paul Chodas.

“Streaming is beginning to look an awful lot like the old-fashioned analogue TV it was supposed to replace.”
“Streaming isn’t going away … You’re still going to have a lot of choice for a long time.”
“In the future, [streaming] likely will cost more, have a little less library content and cancel more shows more quickly.”
“Streaming is still a game of content … It’s not a matter of who’s spending more, it’s who’s spending smartly.”
“Streamers are retreating from any sort of creative risk in favor of humdrum, lowest-common-denominator shows.”
