Marsha Blackburn was navigating her way from table to table, saying hello to voters inside a small restaurant in this bustling suburb of Nashville before sunrise last Saturday when a man took her hand and offered a distinctly odd greeting. Blackburn, the eight-term Republican congressman (her preferred title) from middle Tennessee who is now vying for the state’s open U.S. Senate seat, broke into a wide smile. The number has become a shorthand for one of her main arguments against her Democratic opponent, Phil Bredesen, who has made the race closer than expected in the heavily Republican state.
The legislation leaves it to the 13 provinces and territories to organize sales and distribution, and some are taking slightly different approaches. Households will also be allowed to grow up to four cannabis plants, except in Quebec and Manitoba, where this will be prohibited. Director Richard Linklater’s burger attack on Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is one juicy diss. Whataburger, a chain founded in Texas, has played a prominent role in the Texas senate race between Cruz and O’Rourke, who even ate at a Dallas Whataburger after their debate in September. A recurring character played by Sonny Carl Davis ― who did the same role in a Linklater movie called “Bernie” ― begins the commercial demanding to know what Cruz’s Whataburger insult even means.

As the U.S. Air Force tries to retire and sell its old stocks of F-16As, Lockheed Martin is still churning out new F-16s (albeit built to a far more advanced standard) for countries like Slovakia and Bahrain in 2018. As Russian and China’s 5th generation stealth fighters are nearing completion, some people are wondering how long much longer 4th generation fighters such as the F-16, F-15, Su-27, and MiG-29 are going to stick around. The major reason why 4th generation fighters are likely to stick around for a long time is that many can be considered true multirole aircraft.
