Speaking to an occasionally raucous but mostly disgruntled panel of Pennsylvania Republicans, President Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani and his campaign counsel Jenna Ellis on Wednesday floated the idea that the state Legislature could decide on its own to give Pennsylvania's 20 Electoral College votes to Trump, despite the state's certifying that Joe Biden won the Nov. 3 election in the state. It's the state Legislature that controls this process,” Giuliani told a panel of Republican legislators. It's your power.

The "Wonder" singer said he got into this fitness routine out of fear that if he wasn't physically fit, he'd lose fans. Mendes credited girlfriend Camila Cabello with helping to change his perspective and be more comfortable with his body.
France could return to some sort of post-coronavirus normal in about a year if as many as 80% to 90% of its population are vaccinated against the disease, a government scientific adviser said on Thursday. But getting there might prove difficult as the French are among the most sceptical towards vaccination in the Western world, an attitude fuelled by various conspiracy theories in which denial of science is rife. Arnaud Fontanet, a leading epidemiologist, told BFM TV France needed to get a vaccination rate of up to 90% for a return to ordinary life by next autumn.
Vietnam has been a coronavirus success story, recording about 1,300 cases throughout the pandemic, while the US has recorded the most COVID-19 cases and deaths of any country. O'Brien and his entourage were tested for the coronavirus upon arrival, housed on the same floor of a Hanoi hotel, and had their meals left outside their doors, Bloomberg said. The US Air Force team that piloted O'Brien's plane was not permitted to enter Vietnam and spent the night in neighboring Thailand.
An Iranian scientist long suspected by the West of masterminding a secret nuclear bomb programme was killed in an ambush near Tehran on Friday, likely to provoke confrontation between Iran and its foes in the last weeks of Donald Trump's presidency. Iran's armed forces chief of staff vowed "severe revenge" for those behind the killing of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, who died of injuries in hospital after armed assassins fired on his car, state media reported. "Terrorist groups and the leaders and the perpetrators of this cowardly attempt should know that severe revenge awaits them," he said Fakhrizadeh has long been described by Western countries as a leader of a covert atomic bomb programme halted i...
Florida governor Ron DeSantis has been accused of overseeing a “killing spree”, after he extended a ban on cities in the state imposing their own mask mandates. On Wednesday, Mr DeSantis extended an executive order issued in September, which prevented local governments from fining residents who refused to wear face masks, or from closing restaurants not complying with coronavirus measures. The decision on 25 September prompted the start of the state's third phase of pandemic measures, which allowed restaurants and bars to open at 100 per cent capacity.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has ordered at least two people executed, banned fishing at sea and locked down the capital, Pyongyang, as part of frantic efforts to guard against the coronavirus and its economic damage, South Korea's spy agency told lawmakers Friday. Kim's government also ordered diplomats overseas to refrain from any acts that could provoke the United States because it is worried about President-elect Joe Biden's expected new approach toward North Korea, lawmakers told reporters after attending a private briefing by the National Intelligence Service.
In an attempt to undermine media projections of Joe Biden as the new president-elect, a top aide to President Donald Trump has tweeted a doctored front-page headline of The Washington Times. The Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh shared a picture of the conservative publication with its splash headline reading "President Gore,” a reference to former vice-president Al Gore's race against George W Bush in 2000. The Democratic presidential nominee, Mr Gore, like his 2016 counterpart Hillary Clinton, won the popular vote but ultimately lost the election after a five-week legal battle with Mr Bush over who had received Florida's 25 electoral votes.

China's top diplomat on Thursday stressed the importance of bilateral relations while meeting senior officials in South Korea, where there's growing concern the country is becoming squeezed between its biggest trading partner and military ally the United States. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said he would step down after a new constitution is adopted, the state-owned BelTA news agency cited him as saying on Friday. Belarus has been rocked by months of anti-government protests ever since Lukashenko — often referred to as “Europe's last dictator” — claimed victory in an Aug. 9 presidential election that his opponents say was rigged, a charge he denies. It remained unclear whether Lukashenko's comments were sincere or whether he was just paying lip service to the prospect of him stepping aside.
There's a chance President Trump's pardon of Michael Flynn could backfire some day. In 2017, Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his contact with former Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Flynn's sentencing was delayed while he cooperated with former Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, but earlier this year, Flynn's new legal team accused prosecutors of misconduct and asked to have his guilty plea withdrawn.
A group of Republicans has lost one of two legal challenges brought before the Texas Supreme Court in the hope of invalidating nearly 127,000 drive-thru votes placed in Houston. The plaintiffs - a longtime activist Dr Steven Hotze, along with state Representative Steve Toth, US House candidate Wendell Champion, and judicial candidate Sharon Hemphill - had challenged the validity of the drive-thru voting on the grounds that it violated federal law. In the plea, they had also argued that Democratic Harris County Clerk Chris Hollins exceeded his constitutional authority by permitting drive-thru voting.

Seven conservative lawmakers in New Hampshire have called for the House Judiciary Committee to investigate whether Governor Chris Sununu, a Republican, can be impeached. Sununu has ruled by executive order during the pandemic, and his recent statewide mask mandate violates constitutional rights, the resolution's backers said. But the vast majority of New Hampshire residents approve of the way Sununu handled the pandemic.
Donald Trump has raged at Twitter after the platform suspended a personal account belonging to a Pennsylvania state senator who presided over a conspiracy-filled “hearing” among GOP lawmakers to amplify false claims of voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election. The president – in a series of posts tagging One America News Network, which was suspended from YouTube this week for promoting a false Covid-19 “cure” amid its wall-to-wall far-right content – said state Senator Doug Mastriano was “banned” after the platform and “fake news, working together" sought to “SILENT THE TRUTH. He said: "Can't let that happen.
Fox News host Tucker Carlson claims to have acquired incriminating documents about Hunter Biden, son of Democratic presidential candidate Joe – and then lost them in the post. In a bizarre segment on Wednesday night's show, Carlson alleged that his team mailed the documents from New York to Los Angeles after receiving them from a “source” on Monday, but that the bundle never arrived. Without providing any further details or evidence, Carlson said the “damning” documents had “vanished” en route, heavily implying foul play.
That combination of high consumer interest and high resale value had some people lining up for days at their local GameStop for a chance to buy the console on Black Friday, November 27. That's because GameStop guaranteed shoppers that every retail location would have a minimum of two PlayStation 5 consoles on what's typically the biggest shopping day of the year. And the only way to guarantee getting one of those two consoles was by being among the first in line on Black Friday, which means lining up days ahead in some instances.

Dr Varon Joseph, chief of staff at Houston's United Memorial Center, said a surge of infections over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays may push hospitals to breaking point. Just over 100,000 new infections were reported on Thursday, although that figure could be artificially low with fewer people getting tested on Thanksgiving.
You may think all this is offered by way of explaining why I think President-elect Biden should pardon Donald Trump. It's actually offered to explain why I think he should not. The idea of pardoning Trump — which Biden has already rejected — has been kicking around the pundit sphere quite a bit recently, proposed by everyone from columnists E.J. Montini and David Leibowitz to former Trump aide Anthony Scaramucci and former House Judiciary Committee counsel Michael Conway.
“Donald Trump defeated Donald Trump.”
“The victory was a vindication of a style of American politics that many feared was gone forever.”
“Mr. Biden’s victory — and Mr. Trump’s defeat — is a testament to the resilience of American democracy.”
“Trump’s 2020 reelection bid was doomed by his boorish behavior. Time and again, he refused to act like a president.”
“Biden took the opportunity to unite the Democratic Party.”
