The father of Anthony Huber, one of two men shot and killed by Rittenhouse, filed the lawsuit in 2021, accusing officers of allowing for a dangerous situation that violated his son's constitutional rights and resulted in his death. MSNBC's Chris Hayes on Tuesday said far-right Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) “let the truth slip about what really motivated” serial liar Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) to step down from his House committee assignments. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) “tried to make it seem like stepping down was entirely Santos' idea and that it was just about the ongoing investigations into his campaign finances,” noted Hayes. Hayes then broadcast footage of Greene saying: “He just felt like that there was so much drama, really, over the situation, and especially what we're doing to work to remove [Minnesota Democratic Rep.] Ilhan Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee.”

In his eulogy for Tyre Nichols on Wednesday, the Rev. Al Sharpton singled out the five Black Memphis police officers indicted for their roles in Nichols's death. Noting that the alleged crimes took place not far from the Lorraine Motel, where Martin Luther King Jr. was murdered on April 4, 1968, while waging a protest campaign to try to ensure the safety of Black workers in the city, Sharpton drew a line connecting the legacy of the slain civil rights hero to the killing of Nichols. “The reason why, Mr. and Mrs. Wells [Nichols's stepfather and mother], what happened to Tyre is so personal to me is that five Black men that wouldn't have had a job in the police department, would not ever be thought of to be in an elite squad in the city that Dr. King lost his life, not far away from that balcony, you beat a brother to death,” Sharpton said in his address.

Tesla owner Philip Benassi has experienced it on cold winter days, but like other Norwegians, he has learned to cope with it. With temperatures often falling below zero, rugged terrain and long stretches of remote roads, Norway may not seem like the most ideal place to drive an electric car, whose battery dies faster in cold weather. A record four out of five new autos sold in Norway last year were electric, in a major oil-producing country that aims to end the sale of new fossil fuel cars by 2025 -- a decade ahead of the European Union's planned ban.
