Q.” The post included a link to a tweet from an account apparently belonging to Virginia Giuffre, who says she was abused for years by Epstein, Maxwell and prominent figures in their orbit starting when she was a teenager. Giuffre had tweeted to express satisfaction with a ruling by a federal judge in New York ordering the immediate release of a deposition given by Maxwell in 2016, in a defamation lawsuit brought against her by Giuffre in 2015. Giuffre accused Maxwell of recruiting her as a teenager to become part of a sex-trafficking ring run by Epstein, who committed suicide in jail while awaiting trial for federal sex-trafficking charges last year.

Amy Coney Barrett and the Second Amendment: Why her "expansive view" is utter BS

"Pro-life" Judge Amy Coney Barrett, who will almost certainly be seated on the Supreme Court this week, seems to have no problem putting guns in the hands of individual Americans who want to buy them  —  every Tom, Dick and Kyle. A number of groups advocating gun control and gun safety, including Everytown for Gun Safety, Moms Demand Action, and the Brady Campaign Against Gun Violence, expressed their deep concerns with Barrett's nomination in a recent letter sent to leading members of Congress. The 2008 Supreme Court ruling in District of Columbia v. Heller expanded the meaning of the Second Amendment far beyond militias  —  regulated or not.

Final count gives leftist big victory in Bolivia election

A final official vote count released Friday gave leftist Luis Arce a smashing victory in Bolivia's presidential election, a vindication for the Movement Toward Socialism party of ousted President Evo Morales, who was barred from running. The Supreme Electoral Tribunal said Arce won 55% of the votes against six rivals on the ballot, easily avoiding the need for a runoff. The runnerup was centrist former President Carlos Mesa with just under 29%.

The nest, in the state of Washington, was found by putting tracker devices on the hornets and it was sucked out of a tree using a vacuum hose. The invasive species insects, known as "murder hornets", have a powerful sting and can spit venom.

Mr Trump said: “Nobody has doen more for the Black community than Donald Trump … with the exception of Abraham Lincoln – the possible exception – but the exception of Abraham Lincoln, nobody has done what I've done. 'Toxic': CDC staffers say morale inside the agency has plummeted during the pandemic

Months of mixed messages, political pressure and public gaffes about Covid-19 have caused morale at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to turn "toxic," said four current and two former CDC staffers, with one saying the election could be a "tipping point" for a mass exodus if President Donald Trump wins. "The house is not only on fire," said a veteran CDC staffer who did not want to be named for fear of retribution. Current and former CDC employees told NBC News that career staffers are still struggling to influence key decisions on the pandemic as new daily Covid-19 cases soar nationwide, but are overruled by Trump appointees when politics intrudes.

Jared and Ivanka threaten lawsuit over Times Square billboards

President Donald Trump's daughter and son-in-law, both top White House aides, are threatening to sue a group of anti-Trump Republicans for posting billboard ads in New York City's Times Square linking them to the country's almost 225,000 coronavirus deaths. A lawyer representing Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, made the threat on Friday in a letter to the Lincoln Project, calling the ads "false, malicious and defamatory" and saying they constituted "outrageous and shameful libel." "If these billboard ads are not immediately removed, we will sue you for what will doubtless be enormous compensatory and punitive damages," Marc Kasowitz said in his letter, which the Lincoln Project posted on Twitter.

Police say they are investigating an alleged plot to arrest Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine for tyranny, local news station WSYX reported. On Thursday, a group gathered in front of the Ohio statehouse as a woman swore an oath of office and declared herself governor, according to local WSYX reporter Geoff Redick, who said he confirmed it was the same woman involved in the alleged kidnapping plot. The plot resembled a report earlier this month that the FBI had foiled a right-wing militia's plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and overthrow the state government.

Israel will not oppose U.S. sale of F-35 to UAE

Israel said on Friday it will not oppose U.S. sales of "specific weapons systems" to the United Arab Emirates, in an apparent reference to the F-35 warplanes sought by Abu Dhabi. Under a principle of preserving Israel's "qualitative military edge", the United States consults with it on proposed sales of advanced arms to other countries in the region. Israel has reiterated a need to maintain its military superiority even since forging official ties with the UAE and its fellow Gulf Arab state Bahrain under deals brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump last month.

Viable unborn children can live without their mothers — our Constitution protects them

Perhaps it is time for the United States Supreme Court to acknowledge and protect the humanity of another category of de-humanized individuals, as it did for Black people and women in America not so long ago. Surely, the same Constitution that afforded women the fundamental right to abort non-viable unborn children can guarantee life and liberty for viable humans in utero. Regardless of whether Congress codifies the 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade, or expands the United States Supreme Court's bench, Judge Amy Coney Barrett's confirmation will likely keep abortion, particularly later-term abortion, on the High Court's radar.

After decades of rumors and investigations, Mearan was arrested on human trafficking, racketeering and related charges.
