Five underwater pipelines have been damaged and put out of order after a sabotage attack off the coastal town of Banias, Syria's oil ministry said Sunday. The damage was discovered after divers checked to see what was behind an oil leakage, the ministry said. The Supreme Court on Monday struck down a longstanding U.S. ban on trademarks on "immoral" or "scandalous" words and symbols, ruling in a case involving a clothing brand with an indelicate name that the law violates constitutional free speech rights. The justices ruled against President Donald Trump's administration, which defended the law that had been in place since 1905, and in favor of Los Angeles streetwear designer Erik Brunetti, who was turned down by U.S. Patent and Trademark Office when he sought to trademark his brand name FUCT. All nine justices agreed in the decision written by liberal Justice Elena Kagan that the prohibition on "immoral" trademarks ran afoul of the U.S. Constitution's First Amendment right to free expression.

Just days after the Archdiocese of Indianapolis cut ties with one Catholic high school over its decision to continue to employee a gay teacher, another school is firing one of its educators to avoid the same fate. Cathedral High School, located on the northeast side of Indianapolis, announced Sunday it is terminating a gay teacher in order to avoid a split with the archdiocese, which, last week, stripped Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School of its Catholic identity. Brebeuf refused to fire its educator, who is in a public same-sex marriage.
The driver of a pickup truck in a crash that killed seven motorcyclists will be arraigned Tuesday in a New Hampshire court on charges of negligent homicide. Volodymyr Zhukovskyy is facing seven counts of negligent homicide after a brief court appearance Monday in Massachusetts. The 23-year-old was arrested Monday at his home in West Springfield, Massachusetts.
