Judge Meshon Rawls set the bond and as conditions for Kitna's release ordered him not to have any unsupervised contact with minors and not to have any internet access. Kitna sobbed into his hands when his parents, including former NFL quarterback Jon Kitna, address the court during a 75-minute appearance.
One person died and four others were injured after a giant "rogue wave" hit an Antarctica-bound cruise ship, travel company Viking said. The "rogue wave incident" occurred during a storm on Tuesday – when the Viking Polaris cruise ship was heading towards Ushuaia, Argentina, the company said in an Thursday update. According to AFP, Ushuaia is a starting point for many trips to Antarctica.

The image of three men discovered balancing on the rudder of a ship for 11 days across the ocean from Nigeria to the Canary Islands has left people in shock. The three men were picked up Monday by Spain's Maritime Rescue Services from the rudder of the Alithini II ship. The Richmond County Sheriff's Office told WJBF investigators responded to a home on Nellie Drive on Tuesday around 10:30 p.m. after they received reports of a victim of false imprisonment. Authorities told WJBF that a witness had seen the woman locked in a dog cage inside 32-year-old Shawna Sue Powell's home while he was there to pick up some of his belongings. According to WJBF, the witness told deputies that he knew two people inside the home were armed and that when he first arrived, one of the men pointed a gun at him due to not knowing who he was.

A 10-year-old Wisconsin boy has been charged as an adult after he told police he fatally shot his mother when she refused to buy him a virtual reality headset on Amazon, authorities said. He also said he was angry because she woke him up a half-hour earlier than his usual time the day of the shooting in the family's Milwaukee home on Nov. 21. The day after his mother's death, he logged on to her Amazon account to buy the headset online, according to the criminal complaint against him, which was obtained by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
A motorcyclist was badly injured and the driver of a stolen SUV was killed in a horrific chain-reaction collision on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu near Los Angeles, when the Lexus SUV careened into a pickup truck, causing the pickup to spin and crash into the rider. The crash was captured in a dramatic video by the motorcyclist, Stephen Levey, who was recording his ride on a phone hanging around his neck. “All of a sudden, there's a truck coming at my face,” Levey told station KTLA.
