Brenda Snipes, the supervisor of elections for Broward County, Florida, reportedly submitted her resignation on Sunday after a tumultuous two-week recount effort following this month’s midterms. Snipes, 75, has overseen the region’s elections since she was appointed by former Gov. Jeb Bush (R) in 2003. Two races in Florida were too close to call: the bid for the state’s governorship and for Sen. Bill Nelson’s (D) seat in Congress.
CNN’s Jim Acosta is reporting at the White House again after a judge ruled that the Trump administration overstepped the law in revoking his access. You are a rude, terrible person,” Trump told Acosta. Lawyers for the administration argued, “The President and White House possess the same broad discretion to regulate access to the White House for journalists that they possess to select which journalists receive interviews.

Migrants traveling through Mexico as part of highly publicized — and highly politicized — caravans finally began to arrive in Tijuana by the hundreds last week, reaching what many hope will be the last stop on a long and arduous pilgrimage that began in Honduras more than a month ago. “Where I want to go is the United States of America,” Cesar, 23-year-old asylum seeker from Honduras, told Yahoo News over the phone from a shelter in Tijuana earlier in the week.

Nearly 4,000 people were evacuated on Monday from areas around Guatemala's Fuego volcano, which began violently erupting overnight, the country's disaster agency Conred said. More dangerous flows of hot ash and lava could be expelled, said Juan Pablo Oliva, the head of the country's seismological, volcanic and meteorological institute Insivumeh. This is the fifth eruption so far this year of the 3,763-meter (12,346-feet) volcano, one of the most active in Central America, about 19 miles (30 km) south of Guatemala City.

Sixteen House Democrats, 14 of whom are white males, signed a letter Monday announcing their opposition to Pelosi’s run for Speaker of the House. Asked about the letter Monday night on MSNBC, Ocasio-Cortez, who withheld support for Pelosi until just last week, cast dissent within the caucus as primarily the product of directionless members frustrated with the status quo but unable to chart a new course. Ocasio-Cortez — a 29-year-old upstart progressive who spent her freshman orientation protesting with environmentalists outside Pelosi’s office — also expressed concern that opposition to Pelosi could produce a more conservative Democratic leadership.
Kate McClure’s lawyer says the New Jersey woman was “set up” by Mark D’Amico, her now-ex-boyfriend, as well as Johnny Bobbitt, the homeless man who prosecutors say was also in on the ploy. “She was in tears, she was crying, visibly shaking because she realized what they were saying — and that is that she had been being used by D’Amico and by Bobbitt. McClure, 28, D’Amico, 39, and Bobbitt, 34, are facing charges of theft by deception.
Automaker Nissan on Monday accused its chairman Carlos Ghosn of "significant acts of misconduct" including underreporting his salary and said it would move to fire him, as reports emerged he faced arrest in Tokyo. In a statement, Nissan said it had been conducting a probe into Ghosn for several months after receiving a whistleblower report and had uncovered misconduct going back several years. The statement came after local media reported that Ghosn was being questioned Monday night by prosecutors in Tokyo and was expected to be arrested on violation of financial regulations including misreporting his income.
A senior coalition partner in Israel's government says he will not resign, averting early elections for now. Education Minister Naftali Bennett said on Monday that his Jewish Home party was giving Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu another chance — despite a crisis over the handling of a recent cease-fire with Gaza militants. Bennett was widely expected to announce his party's withdrawal from the coalition, which would have stripped Netanyahu of his parliamentary majority and triggered early polls.
Earlier in the day, the results of the second round of statewide recounts showed Scott had held onto his narrow lead, giving Florida two Republican senators for the first time since the direct election of senators began in 1913. “Now the campaign truly is behind us, and that’s where we need to leave it,” Scott said in a statement.

For most Americans, Thanksgiving is a day to celebrate with food, family, and friends. What is the National Day of Mourning?
It’s time to fly that kids’ table into the sun. Some Thanksgiving traditions are perfect and should never be retired ― drinking bourbon and watching football come to mind ― but the kids’ table is not one of them.

Ruger built the American Pistol to perform in the harsh environments a U.S. Army service pistol could find itself in, immersing it in water, sand, dust, and mud. One of the newest pistols on the U.S. gun market was created to compete in the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun System. Although it would never actually compete against winner Sig Sauer, the Ruger American Pistol is now available to civilian shooters who want a reliable, safe, well-designed pistol backed up by the Ruger name.
Any other standard risks contributing to an already-toxic political environment that is leaving all too many voters paranoid and susceptible to believing unverified and inflammatory conspiracy theories. Applying this standard, it’s past time for Democrats to dial back their rhetoric about the Georgia gubernatorial election. It was reckless for Hillary Clinton to declare that “if [Stacey Abrams] had a fair election, she already would have won.” It was absurd for both Cory Booker and Sherrod Brown to say the election was “stolen.” Indeed, this claim is rapidly becoming conventional wisdom in parts of the Left.
