Joe Biden denied that his family has profited from his public offices, appearing to contradict a statement his son Hunter Biden made last year in which he said he thinks he would “probably not” have been asked to be on the board of a Ukrainian energy company if he were not Biden's son. In an interview published Wednesday, the Democratic presidential nominee was asked about Republican Senator Ron Johnson's claim that Hunter Biden along with other Biden family members profited off the family name, an accusation that has become a frequent attack line by the Trump campaign less than two weeks out from the election. “None whatsoever,” Biden responded, calling the accusations “garbage” promoted by “Trump's henchman,” Rudy Guiliani.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has reportedly shut down all hope of passing a COVID-19 stimulus bill in the next two weeks. The USPS ordered its uniformed police officers to halt their patrol duties at the end of August, raising concerns about the security of mail-in ballots and sparking a lawsuit against the agency. "Why not wait until after the election to neuter the postal police," a union rep for the officers told The Wall Street Journal. The order came a day after Postmaster General Louis DeJoy testified to Congress that he would suspend sweeping changes until after the election following criticism they could delay ballot delivery.

"As we've seen in multiple reports, (the FBI) is looking into whether these claims are credible," he said.

Many Republicans are reluctant to support a relief bill with a likely price tag ranging from nearly $1.9 trillion to $2.2 trillion.
A fisherman who reeled in a 110-pound “monster” catfish in Georgia, setting a new state record, is also catching heat for the rare fish's death. This week a Trump supporter went viral for all the wrong reasons after video surfaced of her yelling anti-Black Lives Matter rhetoric at a Starbucks barista in Santee, California. The clip – which was taken by a concerned customer – shows the agitated woman getting into a heated war of words with barista Alex Beckom, 19, after being politely asked her to wear the Trump 2020 mask under her chin, correctly over her face. Instead of leaving quietly, the woman then accused the coffee shop employee of discriminating against her for her political views as a supporter of the president.
Indeed, to a visitor, it felt there were far more campaign signs in Baker County than there were face masks, even though Florida remains a Covid hot spot. In motels, bars, restaurants, and fuel stations, few people seemed to be wearing them, and many appeared unperturbed when asked about the risk of becoming infected. One rather striking exception was MacClenny's Republican mayor, Mark Bryant, who teaches art at Baker County High School and revealed to The Independent he had tested positive last week and was now in quarantine.

Aside from 5G, the iPhone 12 and the 12 Pro come with a bunch of small changes that together make for a noticeably different pair of iPhones that are a step up from their predecessors.

Mr Trump said he had to return to battlegrounds like Pennsylvania because of the damage caused to the economy by the pandemic.
