"Why not wait until after the election to neuter the postal police," a union rep for the officers told The Wall Street Journal. The order came a day after Postmaster General Louis DeJoy testified to Congress that he would suspend sweeping changes until after the election following criticism they could delay ballot delivery.

The massive fish, hooked last week on the Chattahoochee River, is the largest ever blue catfish caught in Georgia, the state's Department of Natural Resources said Tuesday. Tim Trone, of Havana, Florida, took the prized catch to DNR for an official weigh-in this week, and the record was made official.
More than 50 former intelligence officials wrote a public letter Monday saying they were "deeply suspicious" that Russia could be involved with the dubious New York Post stories published recently about Joe Biden's son Hunter. In the letter, first reported by Politico, the former officials said they believed the information at the center of the stories had "all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation." "It is high time that Russia stops interfering in our democracy," the officials wrote.
This week a Trump supporter went viral for all the wrong reasons after video surfaced of her yelling anti-Black Lives Matter rhetoric at a Starbucks barista in Santee, California. The clip – which was taken by a concerned customer – shows the agitated woman getting into a heated war of words with barista Alex Beckom, 19, after being politely asked her to wear the Trump 2020 mask under her chin, correctly over her face. Instead of leaving quietly, the woman then accused the coffee shop employee of discriminating against her for her political views as a supporter of the president.

If baseball and apple pie are the quintessence of America, the ad Joe Biden's campaign dropped during Game 1 of the World Series seems intent on making a play for that proverbial country kitchen windowsill. The ad, "Go From There," has it all: high school football, veterans, corn farms, and — yes — a train, all rolling by under a piano playing "The Star-Spangled Banner" and famously folksy actor Sam Elliott talking about how great America is and can be if it finds common ground. "No Democratic rivers, no Republican mountains, just this great land and all that's possible on it with a fresh start," Elliott narrates.
Amy Coney Barrett's nomination to the supreme court has prompted former members of her secretive faith group, the People of Praise, to come forward and share stories about emotional trauma and – in at least one case – sexual abuse they claim to have suffered at the hands of members of the Christian group. In the wake of the allegations, the Guardian has learned that the charismatic Christian organization, which is based in Indiana, has hired the law firm of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan to conduct an “independent investigation” into sexual abuse claims on behalf of People of Praise.
Human remains were found Tuesday by a team of archaeologists in the search for victims of the 1921 Tulsa Race Riots. One set of human remains and possibly a second were found at the city-owned Oaklawn Cemetery in north Tulsa, where the July excavation previously ended unsuccessfully. The campaign to re-elect Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., a reliable ally of President Donald Trump, appears to have received a deep discount on lodging at Trump International Hotel in Washington during the Republican National Convention in August, federal records show. Such a discount would violate federal election law barring corporations from contributing directly to campaigns, according to campaign finance experts. Recent Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings show the Gaetz campaign made four separate payments, ranging from $216.20 to $261.47, for lodging at Trump's hotel on Aug. 27, the last of four nights of the convention when Trump gave his acceptance speech from the White House lawn.

Aside from 5G, the iPhone 12 and the 12 Pro come with a bunch of small changes that together make for a noticeably different pair of iPhones that are a step up from their predecessors.

McConnell made his remarks during a private lunch with fellow Republicans, three people familiar with his comments said, requesting anonymity because the session was private.
