Trump has asked Gov. Brian Kemp to intervene and overrule his secretary of state, who has maintained that the election in the state was conducted honestly. “Georgia law prohibits the governor from interfering in elections,” a spokesman for Kemp said in a statement.

President Trump claimed Sunday that he has had other world leaders call him to "say how messed up" the U.S. presidential election was. The comment came during a phone interview with Fox News' Maria Baritromo, during which Trump — without much pushback from Bartiromo — continued to allege President-elect Joe Biden defeated him in the general election with the help of widespread voter fraud, despite there being no evidence of any. It's unclear who Trump was referring to, if he has indeed received such calls.

When Black diners get poorer service from wait staff and bartenders than white customers, it's more likely because of racial bias than the well-documented fact that they tip less, according to a new survey I recently published. To reach that conclusion, my colleague Gerald Nowak and I recruited over 700 mostly white full-service restaurant servers and bartenders to review a hypothetical dining scenario that randomly involved either white or Black customers. Servers who either held prejudices toward African Americans, worked in a restaurant where racist remarks were frequently heard or both were significantly more likely to predict that the table with Black customers would not only tip them less but also display uncivil, demanding and dishonest behaviors.
For her fourth and final Christmas in the White House, first lady Melania Trump chose to play it safe with traditional Christmas decorations, a patriotic theme of “America the Beautiful” and references to military families, first responders, and a cameo by JFK. The unveiling of the spectacle of numerous trees and twinkling lights follows the release in October of a recording of the first lady complaining “who gives a f*** about Christmas stuff” by her former friend and employee Stephanie Winston Wolkoff. Ms Trump has previously said she is inspired by Ms Kennedy's time as first lady.
President Trump said the other day that he'd leave office if he loses the vote of the Electoral College on December 14. This is not the kind of assurance presidents of the United States typically need to make, but it was noteworthy given Trump's disgraceful conduct since losing his bid for reelection to Joe Biden on November 3. Behind in almost all the major polls, Trump stormed within a hair's breadth in the key battlegrounds of winning reelection, and his unexpectedly robust performance helped put Republicans in a strong position for the post-Trump-presidency era.
Investigators in Houston searched a home in the city after discovering the body of Briana Tierra Johnson in the trunk of a car at the end of a police chase. People in Poland, a major opponent of homosexuality, are unhappy after a new documentary claimed that national icon Frédéric Chopin had love affairs with men. "Chopin's Men" translated newly-released letters from the 19th-century composer and said they show a "flood of declarations of love aimed at men." While homosexuality is legal in Poland, gay people can't get married or have civil partnerships.
In between posting false claims of mass voter fraud and promoting conspiracy theories surrounding his defeat in the 2020 elections, President Donald Trump appeared to wish President-elect Joe Biden a speedy recovery for an injury he sustained on Thanksgiving weekend. The president's harsh words on Twitter over the outcome of the recent election were seemingly interrupted on Sunday night by his offer of well wishes for Mr Biden, who fractured his foot while playing with his dog, Major, according to the president-elect's doctor. Sharing an NBC News video that captured Mr Biden leaving the office of his orthopedic doctor in Delaware, Mr Trump wrote: “Get well soon!

Joe Biden announced six top economic job picks on Monday, but he may set off his first confirmation fight by nominating Neera Tanden as head of the Office of Management and Budget. Tanden was a key Clinton ally during her 2016 presidential run and sparred with Republicans during the Trump presidency. Several Republicans suggested she would face GOP resistance in the Senate during the confirmation process.
In fact, experts say that being a permissive parent — one who allows kids to do what they want most of the time, with few boundaries or consequences — can actually harm children in the long run. "It is important to 'permit' your child to make choices, chart their own paths, and learn from their mistakes," said Stephen Glicksman, a developmental psychologist at Makor Disability Services and Adjunct Associate Professor at Yeshiva University. "But permissive parents put their children in charge of their own growth, without any secure base to launch from or return to when they need support."

An eight-mile wall of prehistoric rock art featuring animals and humans has been discovered in the Chiribiquete National Park, Colombia, in the Amazon rainforest. Dubbed the “Sistine Chapel of the ancients”, the 12,500-years-old artwork was uncovered by a British-Colombian team of archaeologists under the leadership of José Iriarte, professor of archaeology at Exeter University, and was funded by the European Research Council. Experts have dated the rock art based on the portrayal of animals that are now extinct, such as a mastodon — a prehistoric relative of the elephant, known to have inhabited North and Central America about 12,000 years ago.

“This metastasizing debt crisis has had tremendous social costs. An entire generation has been set back.”
“It is not the government’s job to step in and rescue those who took on more debt than their future incomes would support.”
“Many student-borrowers need relief, but well-off borrowers who are thriving — thanks to their college degrees — do not.”
“It will stimulate the lagging economy. And though not everyone will directly benefit, the country as a whole will improve.”
