Emergency calls reveal that Jerry Falwell Jr. was found intoxicated and injured on August 30, a week after a news report alleging a years-long sexual affair between him, his wife, and another man, the Huffington Post reported on Thursday. Falwell's wife called 911 after she had to break into her own home to reach Falwell, who she said was intoxicated and bleeding. The incident came after Falwell resigned as president of Liberty University following several scandals.

A Milwaukee man turned himself in to police after he allegedly killed his sister in a shooting overheard by a child's virtual class, Wisconsin police say. Michelle Blackmon, a 52-year-old local pastor, was killed in the shooting, TMJ4 reported. Police say her 45-year-old brother, Mario Stokes, killed her Sept. 11 following an argument the night before, according to WDJT.

Students and parents were upset when the suspected Kenosha shooter was on a list of "modern heroes" that they could choose to defend as part of a Dallas high school's class assignment, CNN reported. Kyle Rittenhouse, 17, was arrested and charged with first-degree intentional homicide and a string of other felonies tied to the killing of two people at a protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Joseph Rosenbaum, who was shot and killed in Kenosha, was also on that list.
Taiwan scrambled fighter jets on Friday after a fleet of Chinese military aircraft buzzed the island, stepping up tensions as a senior US official began holding meetings in Taipei. Authorities are urging Michigan residents to stay indoors after dark to stay protected from mosquito bites, after a resident is suspected to have been infected with a rare deadly virus. On Tuesday, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) announced that a resident of Barry County, Michigan, was suspected of having Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE), which is a potentially deadly mosquito-borne illness. In addition to the suspected case, 22 horses across 10 counties in the state have been confirmed to have EEE, which has put residents of those areas at risk of being infected.

A military court in Somalia has sentenced a militant Islamist to life in prison for his role in a deadly attack on a US base in Kenya.
