And faith-based groups that work with refugees are concerned about the impact of that delay โ including canceled flights and expired medical clearances โ on the thousands of people waiting to come to the U.S. โRight now, the way that the refugee program is operating, it really is operating as if President Trump were still president,โ said Jenny Yang, vice president for advocacy and policy at World Relief, one of the faith-based groups contracted by the U.S. government to resettle refugees. It's concerning because the way they had structured the program is really not letting in some of the most vulnerable refugees around the world,โ Yang added.

โWithout modern infrastructure, the US cannot create decent jobs, social justice or climate safety.โ
โThe plan itself is really a big bait-and-switch...A fraction of the spending is actually devoted to traditional infrastructure projects.โ
โFocusing on the size of the investment is misleading when you consider the high cost of not making it.โ
โRather than spending $2 trillion, we should privatize infrastructure where feasible and cut taxes and regulations on the rest.โ
โPublic investment can also be a major source of jobs and growth, helping to pull us out of the stagnation trap.โ
