The dismembered body of journalist Jamal Khashoggi may have been transported out of Turkey in luggage, according to the Turkish defense minister. Khashoggi, a Washington Post journalist and resident of the U.S., was killed in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul last month. Turkish officials and the CIA concluded that he was slain on orders from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
A woman and a child are detained by U.S. Border Patrol agents between two border structures on the U.S. side of the southern border Tijuana, Mexico, on Nov. 15, 2018. Migrants traveling through Mexico as part of highly publicized — and highly politicized — caravans finally began to arrive in Tijuana by the hundreds last week, reaching what many hope will be the last stop on a long and arduous pilgrimage that began in Honduras more than a month ago. “Where I want to go is the United States of America,” Cesar, 23-year-old asylum seeker from Honduras, told Yahoo News over the phone from a shelter in Tijuana earlier in the week.

About 4,000 residents fled Guatemala‘s Volcano of Fire Monday as red-hot rock and ash spewed into the sky and cascaded down the slopes towards an area devastated by a deadly eruption earlier this year. Guatemala’s volcanology unit said that explosions from the 12,300-foot (3,763-metre) high mountain shook homes with “constant sounds similar to a train locomotive”. Hot blasts of pyroclastic material pushed down canyons on the slopes, while a column of ash rose nearly 23,000 feet (7,000 metres) above sea level and drifted towards Guatemala City to the east.
Although the Islamic State group has been defeated militarily in Iraq, members of the militia group still find areas to hide. Iraqi federal police have outposts in the region, but their patrols only operate during the day. The Islamic State group’s favorite targets are members of the Shia militia al-Hashd al-Shaabi.

"We have been told we're to look as hard as we can, but it's still possible we may not be able to find something left of someone," said Trish Moutard, a volunteer with the California Rescue Dog Association, who may undertake a second deployment to Paradise on Tuesday with her dog IC. "If the fire stayed long enough and burned hot enough, the bones could, at a minimum, be fragmented down to such a small amount that we couldn't see them, and it's possible that even the dogs might not be able to detect them." Authorities have been urging residents to look at the missing persons list so they can remove people now known to be safe or whose names are duplicated, said Miranda Bowersox, a spokeswoman for the Butte County Sheriff's Office. Missing lists swelled to over 2,000 after disasters such as Hurricanes Irma and Michael, which came ashore in Florida in the past two years.

Ghosn, one of the world's best-known businessmen, was reportedly under arrest in Japan on Monday in a shocking fall from grace linked to allegations of financial misconduct.
Florida Gov. Rick Scott has officially won his third statewide race by his narrowest margin yet ― barely one-tenth of a percentage point ― giving Republicans their fourth takeaway from Democrats in the U.S. Senate. Both a machine recount and a manual recount were required under Florida law because of the closeness of the tally, but neither changed the final count appreciably and it ended at 10,000 votes, ending Democrat Bill Nelson’s last hopes of winning a fourth six-year term. Nelson conceded to Scott in a phone call Sunday afternoon.
A transcript of a tape recording of murdered Saudi Arabian journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s final minutes has been leaked, in which one of the alleged killers is heard calling him a “traitor”. Why are you doing this?" the report quotes Khashoggi as saying, as several members of an alleged 15-man “hit squad” accost him as soon as he enters the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on Oct 2. Khashoggi and four members of the squad are heard quarrelling for at least seven minutes before the audio goes quiet.

Police say a woman sought a protection order four years ago against the man who fatally shot a doctor, a police officer and another worker at a Chicago hospital. Investigators say the suspected gunman, 32-year-old Juan Lopez, also died following the shooting Monday at Mercy Hospital on the city's South Side, but it's unclear if he shot himself or was fatally shot by police. Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says a woman complained in 2014 that Lopez was incessantly texting her and refused to stop.
It’s time to fly that kids’ table into the sun. Some Thanksgiving traditions are perfect and should never be retired ― drinking bourbon and watching football come to mind ― but the kids’ table is not one of them.
“The OPEC community has understood the difficulties we face –- Libya has withheld more than any other country from the global market,” National Oil Corp. Chairman Mustafa Sanalla wrote in a phone message. OPEC and its allies are considering cutting oil output in 2019 as the group is increasingly concerned about the potential for oversupply. Libya, along with Nigeria, has been exempt from cuts since January 2017 due to domestic conflict.
For most Americans, Thanksgiving is a day to celebrate with food, family, and friends. Since 1970, the fourth day of every November has been commemorated with a march and rally by Native Americans in Plymouth, Massachusetts, who do not celebrate the “first” Thanksgiving feast between the Pilgrims and the Indians, but instead remember the Native Americans who have lost their lives and culture since colonisation. What is the National Day of Mourning?
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has been accused of inciting hate against India's highest caste after being photographed holding a poster declaring "smash Brahminical patriarchy" during a visit to the country. Dorsey was snapped holding the offending poster alongside six women who participated in a discussion last week on the role of Twitter in India, where caste is a flashpoint issue and grievances can turn violent. "Do you realise that this picture has potential of causing communal riots at a time when several States are going to Assembly Elections in India," tweeted Indian police officer Sandeep Mittal.
The president of Finland said Sunday that he didn’t recall mentioning the use of raking to prevent wildfires during a brief interaction with President Donald Trump earlier this month, despite the U.S. leader’s assertion that it spent “a lot of time on raking and cleaning” their forests. “I mentioned [to] him that Finland is a land covered by forests and we also have a good monitoring system and network,” Finnish President Sauli Niinistö told his country’s newspaper, the Ilta-Sanomat. Trump prompted widespread confusion this weekend during his tour of California to view the devastation left in the wake of the Camp fire in Northern California.
Brenda Snipes submitted her resignation as Broward County, Florida’s chief of elections on Sunday after coming under fire for a host of problems that plagued the county during the midterms and over her 15 years in the position. The resignation is expected to kick in sometime in January, leaving the appointment of a new elections supervisor up to incoming Republican governor Ron DeSantis. “There was no way as governor that I was going to let her preside over another election down there after all the problems that they had,” DeSantis said on Fox News Monday morning.
Florida is suing the nation’s two largest drugstore chains, Walgreens and CVS, alleging they added to the state and national opioid crisis by overselling painkillers and not taking precautions to stop illegal sales. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced late Friday that she has added the companies to a state-court lawsuit filed last spring against Purdue Pharma, the maker of OxyContin, and several opioid distributors. Bondi said in a press release that CVS and Walgreens “played a role in creating the opioid crisis.” She said the companies failed to stop “suspicious orders of opioids” and “dispensed unreasonable quantities of opioids from their pharmacies.” On average, about 45 people die nationally each day because of opioid overdoses, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The killers of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi may have taken his dismembered body out of Turkey in luggage, Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar was quoted as saying by broadcaster CNN Turk on Sunday. Khashoggi, a U.S. resident and Washington Post columnist, was killed in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2, sparking global outrage against the kingdom and its de facto ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Riyadh had offered numerous contradictory explanations for his disappearance, before saying Khashoggi was killed after "negotiations" to convince him to return to Saudi Arabia failed.
Israel's prime minister says he will also take over as defense minister and is rejecting calls to hold early elections. Lieberman's resignation has left Netanyahu with a narrow majority in parliament, and his remaining partners have demanded he hold early elections.
Ruger built the American Pistol to perform in the harsh environments a U.S. Army service pistol could find itself in, immersing it in water, sand, dust, and mud. One of the newest pistols on the U.S. gun market was created to compete in the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun System. Although it would never actually compete against winner Sig Sauer, the Ruger American Pistol is now available to civilian shooters who want a reliable, safe, well-designed pistol backed up by the Ruger name.
