Conservative boycotts against Target and Bud Light are working thanks to a 'perfect storm' of social media and culture wars, experts say

But this year, something was different: Target workers began getting violent threats from customers. The confrontations — which stemmed from an online backlash led by right-wing commentators who made false claims about certain Target Pride merchandise — prompted Target to start pulling some of the products from its shelves and disassembling prominent Pride displays at some stores. But the fallout goes beyond Target.

Debt ceiling deal reveals the impotence of Donald Trump's MAGA movement

The recent debt-ceiling deal reached between President Joe Biden and Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy perfectly illustrates MAGA's all-holler/no-action status. MAGA's debt-ceiling red line was easily crossed by Kevin McCarthy This was the none-shall-pass for moment for far-right Republicans in Congress, a chance to use the threat of economic disaster that would accompany a default to un-do all the things Big Bad Biden has accomplished as president, to slash spending to the bone and poke holes in the safety net. I say to the Republicans out there – congressmen, senators – if they don't give you massive cuts, you're going to have to do a default, Trump said during a CNN town hall.

'Ozempic Butt' Is Increasingly Impacting Those Using Weight Loss Medication

Having experienced a meteoric buzz in almost every form of media (especially TikTok) over the last year, semaglutide injections (better known under brand names like Ozempic and Wegovy) are becoming more common than ever before. The prescription drug — which in part, mimics a hormone in the body that helps suppress appetite and may encourage significant weight loss — has also earned a reputation for a myriad of side effects, everything from gastrointestinal distress to the dramatic impact it may have on your appearance. Part of that phenomenon was examined earlier this year when drug users complained of "Ozempic face," where weight loss had prompted saggy, drawn facial skin due to weight loss just weeks into using semaglutide.

Chinese Defence Minister Li Shangfu told Asia's top security summit on Sunday that conflict with the United States would be an "unbearable disaster" but that his country sought dialogue over confrontation. Speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, Li said the world was big enough for China and the U.S. to grow together - remarks made days after he refused to meet his U.S. counterpart for direct talks. "China and the U.S. have different systems and are different in many other ways," he said in a speech that marked his first significant international address since he was named China's Minister of National Defence in March.

Stephen Hawking's most famous prediction could mean that everything in the universe is doomed to evaporate, new study says

Stephen Hawking's most famous theory about black holes has just been given a sinister update — one that proclaims that everything in the universe is doomed to evaporate. In 1974, Hawking proposed that black holes eventually evaporate by losing what's now known as Hawking radiation — a gradual draining of energy in the form of light particles that spring up around black holes' immensely powerful gravitational fields. Now, a new update to the theory has suggested that Hawking radiation isn't just created by stealing energy from black holes, but from all objects with enough mass.
