WASHINGTON – If President Donald Trump has a true political bromance with any foreign leader, it's probably Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. But the bond between Trump and Netanyahu goes far beyond political flattery and good chemistry.

Based on the published statements, plus an estimate of what is to come in the fourth statement, it appears likely that the Mueller investigation itself will have cost around $17m. The special counsel's office also reported Department of Justice spending that supported its activities, stating that it wasn't legally required to do so and that those expenditures would have occurred regardless of whether or not the special counsel's office was conducting an investigation. If those additional expenditures are taken into account, the final estimate for the cost of the Mueller investigation reaches around $31m.

Reeling off a litany of election irregularities, Thaksin said the military regime “clearly is afraid” and its proxy party Palang Pracharath would lead a “very unstable government” if it doesn't have a majority in the lower house of parliament. On Sunday, Barr said there was insufficient evidence Trump obstructed justice by trying to interfere with Mueller's probe. Barr's decision to exonerate Trump on the obstruction issue, when Mueller pointedly didn't, is being cited by Democrats as they press for the release of Mueller's entire report. The outcome places the Justice Department in the center of a political fight, revives scrutiny of the attorney general's own views on obstruction and presidential power — which he shared with the White House before his nomination in December — and is prompting questions about why Barr interjected his own judgment in place of the special counsel who reported to him.
