President Trump on Tuesday called on Attorney General William Barr to “appoint somebody” to launch an investigation into his Democratic opponent, former Vice President Joe Biden, and his son Hunter Biden before Election Day, now just two weeks away. “We've got to get the attorney general to act,” Trump said in a telephone interview with “Fox & Friends” when asked whether a special prosecutor should be appointed to probe unverified allegations against the Bidens. In an interview with Fox Business earlier this month, Trump said that history would look poorly on Barr if he does not prosecute Hillary Clinton and other members of the Obama administration, including Joe Biden.
Danish submarine killer Peter Madsen took a female psychologist hostage and then escaped from prison in Copenhagen on Tuesday, keeping police at bay for nearby two hours after he wore what police feared was an explosives belt strapped around his abdomen. "There is nothing at this point to indicate that (the belt) contained explosives... We think it was fake," Copenhagen Vestegns police inspector Mogens Lauridsen said, adding that an investigation was underway to be certain.

Famed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson posted a picture of an asteroid approaching Earth saying that it could strike the planet before the election on Nov. 3. “Asteroid 2018VP1, a refrigerator-sized space-rock, is hurtling towards us at more than 40,000 km/hr,” he wrote in a tweet Saturday. “It may buzz-cut Earth on Nov 2, the day before the Presidential Election.”
More than 50 former intelligence officials wrote a public letter Monday saying they were "deeply suspicious" that Russia could be involved with the dubious New York Post stories published recently about Joe Biden's son Hunter. In the letter, first reported by Politico, the former officials said they believed the information at the center of the stories had "all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation." "It is high time that Russia stops interfering in our democracy," the officials wrote.
A federal appellate court panel ruled Monday that Texas does not have to give voters a chance to correct issues with their ballots nor inform them if a ballot was rejected until after the election. The ruling allows election officials to reject ballots over mismatched signatures without allowing voters to correct the problem — or even notifying them of the pending rejection. U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia ruled last month that the state's process for verifying signatures on mail-in ballots "plainly violates certain voters' constitutional rights" and was "inherently fraught with error with no recourse for voters."
Prosecutors in Taiwan have charged the captain of a fishing boat with ordering the killing of four suspected Somali pirates eight years ago. The suspect said the alleged Somali pirates shot at his boat and three other boats fishing in the area, before one of the fishing boats managed to knock the men into the sea. Despite knowing the men had no way of defending themselves at this point, the suspect told officials he ordered his Pakistani security guards to shoot them so that they could not get away and ask other pirates to hijack his vessel, prosecutors said.

Fox News reportedly declined the chance to run Rudy Giuliani's Hunter Biden emails story amid reported concerns on its credibility. Mr Giuliani then took the story to the tabloid New York Post, also owned by Mr Murdoch, who ran the controversial stories with material they claim was taken from Mr Biden's laptop. Fox News was reportedly unhappy at the lack of verification that the laptop actually belonged to Mr Biden and had concerns about Mr Giuliani's reliability as a source, insiders told mediaite.com.
A divided Supreme Court rejected a Pennsylvania Republican effort to curtail mail-in voting, but experts say the Democratic victory may be short-lived — and confirming Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett would be a "disaster for Democrats." With Chief Justice John Roberts joining the court's three liberals, the court split 4-4 to reject a request from Pennsylvania Republicans to block an order from the state's Supreme Court allowing mail-in ballots to be counted if they are received within three days of Election Day — even if they do not have a clear postmark. The tie left the state decision in place, which Democratic lawyers hailed as "great news for voting rights."

Michigan's top election official said state police will enforce a ban on people openly carrying firearms near polling places on Election Day, Nov. 3. In Minnesota, civil rights groups sued to block efforts by a private security company to deploy armed polling monitors, labeling the effort voter intimidation. November's election, one of the most bitterly contested in living U.S. history, could set the stage for a clash between the robust American traditions of free speech and gun rights, following a series of incidents at this year's wave of anti-racism protests.

Kennedy International Airport instead of Newark Liberty International, adding an extra two nautical miles to the route. When former LifeLock spokesperson Rudy Giuliani approached Fox News with the trove of emails he alleged had been retrieved from a laptop belonging to Hunter Biden, the network declined to run the story over concerns about its credibility, according to a new report. Giuliani previously told The New York Times that he had chosen to place the material with The New York Post because "either nobody else would take it, or if they took it, they would spend all the time they could to try to contradict it before they put it out." The Post, a sister company of Fox News, published the unverified emails in a Wednesday exposé, which drew widespread blowback for its dubious sourcing.

Jeannine Lee Lake was among several witnesses who reported hearing three loud “thuds” — blasts they believe whizzed past the candidate's marked campaign car before striking something else, according to the Muncie Star Press.
Amid an escalation in Donald Trump's feud with Anthony Fauci, a new poll finds the president's attacks on the top US infectious disease official have worked. A special US election poll compiled for The Independent by JL Partners found a majority of Americans, 51 per cent, said they would be confident while taking a coronavirus vaccine. But among Mr Trump's supporters, that figure drops under a scenario in which Mr Fauci endorses a vaccine.

He opened his first of two Monday campaign events in the state by declaring, as he reportedly did on a call with campaign staff earlier, the American people are "over" the virus – even as it spreads anew in most states. They're getting tired of the pandemic, aren't we?
