Trump calls for disenfranchising American voters, but his tweets are toothless

President Trump said Thursday morning that he wants to stop counting votes, which would disenfranchise millions of Americans who have cast legitimate ballots in the presidential election. Stop the count,” Trump tweeted at two different times Thursday morning. Even as he did so, Democrat Joe Biden led in enough states that if the vote counting were immediately halted — which it will not be — Biden would be declared the next president.

U.S. Postal Service delivered 40,000 votes nationwide Thursday: lawyer

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) delivered about 40,000 ballots on Thursday as it continues to conduct court-ordered twice-daily sweeps before various state deadlines to receive ballots, a lawyer said Friday. In a court filing early Friday, USPS said 1,076 ballots, had been found at the USPS Philadelphia Processing and Distribution Center. About 300 were found at the Pittsburgh processing center, 266 at a Lehigh Valley facility and others found at other Pennsylvania processing centers.

Who to blame for stalled stimulus talks
    • “Accepting a deal on coronavirus aid might undercut Trump’s main campaign talking point: That everything is fine.”

    • “Pelosi’s fear is being ‘soft on Trump.’ In the Trump era, that’s the worst accusation one can make against a Democrat.”

    • “In reality, Senate Republicans are the ones who could be the roadblock to a deal.”

    • “Democrats are wary of passing a stimulus bill because it would hand President Donald Trump a political victory.”

    • “Despite the dire need, Trump, the great dealmaker, has been unable to get his own Republicans to accept a new stimulus.”
