Feb. 5—Berks Business Education Coalition

Terri Hill has been selected as the new executive director for the Berks Business Education Coalition. In her role, Hill bring together leaders in business and education to help students access the resources and experiences needed to better prepare for life after graduation.

Hill graduated from Penn State University with a B.S. in secondary education in mathematics. She is a certified facilitator for the Proctor-Gallagher Institute and has served in leadership roles in Rotary and the American Business Women's Association. Throughout her 25-year career in sales and marketing, she has worked with businesses in Berks County and in neighboring communities. She founded Two Hills Consulting in February 2020 to guide professionals in transition.

She was integral in developing and implementing, along with Gary Seibert of the Small Business Resource Association (SBRA), the Emerging Entrepreneurs Academy (EEA). In collaboration with the BCIU's Career Ready Berks, the EEA launched its first academy in 2022 providing an opportunity for students from Berks County school districts to learn directly from business owners in their field of interest and intern in a small business environment.

Hartman, Valeriano, Magovern & Lutz

Michelle Mayfield has been promoted to the position of partner with Hartman, Valeriano, Magovern & Lutz P.C., a Wyomissing full service law firm.

Mayfield specializes in municipal law, zoning, land use, litigation and code enforcement. She e also has extensive experience in land use and development matters focusing on issues relating to the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code.

Mayfield received her Bachelor of Science in business administration from West Virginia University, and her Juris Doctorate from Villanova University School of Law in 1997. she previously served as an assistant city solicitor for the City of Reading and currently serves as special counsel for the City of Reading including various boards and the Planning Commission.

Mayfield is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania District Court. She is also admitted to the State Bar of West Virginia and Southern District Court of West Virginia. She is a member of the Pennsylvania and Berks County Bar Associations.

Tompkins Community Bank

Angelo Ramirez has been appointed senior vice president, regional market leader for Tompkins Community Bank. Ramirez has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, previously serving as a vice president and commercial relationship manager at Provident Bank.

In his new role, Ramirez is responsible for providing high-level relationship management to various clients and for growing portfolios in a competitive and demanding marketplace through cross-selling and cultivating new clients using a needs satisfaction approach.

Prior to his role with Provident Bank, Ramirez served in senior leadership and relationship manager positions at Wells Fargo Bank, Priority Bank and Citizens Bank, where he developed and managed the growth of various portfolios of commercial loans and deposit relationships. Ramirez also has accreditation from the Citizens Bank Commercial Credit Training Program.

He is a graduate of Temple University and a recipient of an M.B.A. from Eastern University.

Saxton & Stump

Attorney Stephen J. Fleury Jr. has been elevated to equity shareholder at the firm of Saxton & Stump. Fleury, who joined Saxton & Stump in 2018, is a member of the firm's Labor and Employment Group as well as the Investigations and Criminal Defense Group.

He focuses his practice on labor and employment law, representing employers and insurers in administrative hearings and state and federal court for claims pertaining to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, workers' compensation and unemployment benefits. Fleury also regularly counsels employers on these topics and wage and hour issues, employment agreements, restrictive covenants and employee discipline. He has taken more than 100 cases to verdict throughout his career.

Fleury is also a member of the firm's Investigations and Criminal Defense Group.

Fleury earned his law degree at Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University and was a cum laude graduate of Dickinson College. He also was a member of the Class of 2018 at Leadership Lancaster.
