Jan. 14—Berks Community Health Center

Isaiah Adio has been hired as the new chief information officer (CIO) for Berks Community Health Center (BCHC). Isaiah Adio brings more than 25 years of experience managing information technology operations and strategic initiatives into this role.

Before assuming this position, he held leadership positions as chief of IT procurement at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of General Services; director of information technology at the Children's Home of Reading; assistant vice president/software developer/business analyst at Santander Bank; network and security administrator at Miller-Keystone Blood Center; ERP project manager at Ovation Pharmaceutical; and budget analyst & systems administrator for the United States Department of Commerce (Foreign Service).

Adio will complete a Doctor of Business Administration from California Southern University this year. His academic background also includes a master's degree in information systems from Minot State University in North Dakota, and a bachelor's degree in computer science with several professional IT certifications.

A resident of Pennsylvania since 2004, Isaiah and his wife, Olayemi, have three children in college. His commitment to the community is evident in his volunteer efforts as a chairman of the board of directors of Open Door International Inc. and Parish Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, both located in Reading.

Muhlenberg Greene Architects

Muhlenberg Greene Architects has announced that Grace Cai, AIA, has joined the firm as a project architect. Cai brings more than 15 years of architectural design and construction management experience to the firm.

At Muhlenberg Greene, she will oversee projects from initial planning and schematic design through construction completion. Cai earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Florida Atlantic University in 2004 and a Bachelor of Building Engineering, specializing in structural design and construction management, with a second degree in interior design, from Tonji University in China. A registered architect in Pennsylvania and Florida, Cai specializes in commercial architecture, construction documentation and administration.

Fluent in Chinese, Cai was born in China, and moved to the United States. She previously lived in Florida and Ohio, and currently lives in Chester County. Cai will work out of the firm's Wyomissing office, but as customary, she will support projects throughout the firm's service area, including eight states and the District of Columbia.

Barley Snyder

Salvatore Anastasi, partner and Intellectual Property Practice Group chairman at Barley Snyder has been elected as first vice president of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).

As first vice president, Anastasi is a member of the executive committee and is charged with leading the AIPLA annual meeting and spring meeting in Austin, Texas. Since 1997, he has held many leadership roles of active involvement with the AIPLA, previously serving as second vice president from 2022-2023, as treasurer from 2019-2022 and as a board member since 2014. His current position puts him on the path to becoming president of the board of directors in 2025.

The organization is a national bar association that represents a variety of individuals from law firms, companies, and institutions involved in patent, trademark, copyright, unfair competition law and other fields of law affecting intellectual property.

Anastasi has been an attorney at Barley Snyder for nearly 24 years, counseling clients on all aspects of intellectual property, including domestic and international patent preparation and prosecution and intellectual property litigation. He also litigates IP matters and prepares licensing agreements, patentability, trademark, validity and infringement opinions. His clients range in size from large multinational corporations to individual inventors that are located throughout the U.S. and internationally.

Outside the firm, Anastasi also serves on the board of directors for the Brandywine Regional Airport. He previously served as a board member and chairman of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the Chester County Bar Association as well as a board member of the Chester County Bar Foundation.

Saxton & Stump

Saxton & Stump has elevated two attorneys to equity shareholder at the firm. Lane E. Brody and Kenneth J. McDermott were both promoted from senior counsel attorneys to shareholders.

Brody is a member of the Trucking and Commercial Transportation Group, as well as the Commercial Litigation Group. McDermott is the chair of the firm's Liquor Licensing and Alcohol Group and is also a member of the firm's Hospitality, Commercial Litigation, and Business, Corporate and Tax groups. They practice out of the firm's Crums Mill, Harrisburg office.

For nearly 20 years, Brody has focused his practice on the defense of commercial motor vehicles and their insurers as well as a variety of clients in civil litigation matters. From 2014 to 2020, the attorney recognition organization Super Lawyers named Brody to its Pennsylvania "Rising Stars" list. He is the president of the board of directors of the South-Central Chapter of the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association and is a volunteer for Wills for Heroes, an organization that helps draft wills for active military personnel. Brody received his law degree from the Widener University School of Law.

McDermott represents beverage retailers, distributors, restaurants, hotels, bars, private clubs, music and entertainment venues, breweries, wineries, distilleries, and other liquor licensees on all aspects of liquor licensing and alcohol law. He is on the board of directors at the Crime Stoppers of Dauphin County and the Pennsylvania Restaurant and Lodging Association — Central Chapter. He is also an associate member of the Brewers of Pennsylvania. McDermott received his law degree from the Penn State Dickinson School of Law.
