Next COVID-19 vaccine shipment smaller than expected

California and several other states announced on Thursday that they have been told to expect less of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines than initially communicated by the federal government. Gov. Gavin Newsom previously said he had anticipated an allocation of 393,000 vaccines. "Based on this latest information, we’re expecting about 233,000 doses," said Erin Mellon, a spokesperson for the governor's office. That new number is about 40% of what was promised. Other states also announcing they are expecting fewer doses include Iowa, Illinois, Washington, Michigan, and Oregon. See more in the video above.
