The Next James Bond Movie Has a Name

In recent months, a steady stream of rumors and bite-sized developments have kept the James Bond franchise—which is approaching its 25th iteration—in the news. And now, duh-nuh-nuh-nuh...nuh-nuh-nuuuuh, duuuuh-nuuuuh, du-nuh-nuuuh—we have an official title for the next film: No Time to Die.

Is there a good time to die? Unclear! All that's known to date about this flick, which is dropping in April 2020, is that Rami Malek (GQ's September cover star) is playing a Bond villain, it's probably Daniel Craig's last hurrah as James Bond, and a new 007—actress Lashana Lynch—is probably entering the fold. There's also this, from the YouTube title reveal synopsis:

In NO TIME TO DIE, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

I too hate when I am enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica and my old friend from the CIA shows up asking for help.

It’s been 15 years since Pierce Brosnan’s final outing as 007 brought us glacier-surfing and an invisible car.

Rami Malek was an acclaimed journeyman actor known for his hustle, preparation, and intensity. Then he played Freddie Mercury, won an Oscar, and became world-famous practically all at once. Now Malek is working through his newest role—as a global star.
