'Next level': Tony! Toni! Toné! will be 'Waiting for you' at Fayetteville's New Year's Eve bash
Fayetteville will ring in 2023 with a flashback to the 90s with award-winning rhythm and blues trio Tony! Toni! Toné! performing at the city's New Year’s Eve bash, according to the Cool Spring Downtown District.
The Cool Spring Downtown District is facilitating the event on behalf of the city of Fayetteville from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Dec. 31 at Festival Park, 335 Ray Ave.
The event is open to the public at no cost.
Tony! Toni! Toné!’s 14 Billboard-charting R&B singles include five No. 1 hits, three top 10 pop singles, along with one gold album, two platinum albums and one double platinum album.
Their single “Me and You" is on the “Boyz n the Hood” movie soundtrack; “Waiting for You,” is on the “Poetic Justice” soundtrack; and top R&B hits include “Little Walter,” “Feels Good,” “The Blues” and “Whatever You Want.”
“Attendees will be drawn in by the rousing party rhythms of local DJs, electrifying the crowd energy leading up to Tony! Toni! Toné taking the party to the next level,” the news release states.
This year's theme is Night Circus: A District New Year’s Eve Spectacular.
Organizers said carnival attractions including stilt walkers, fire dancers, magicians, festive food, food trucks and more will be on site.
At midnight “organizers will raise a large radiant multi-colored star into the sky — a symbol of our city — that will be visible from a distance, illuminated by a spectacular burst of fireworks” to ring in the new year, the news release states.
