Diamond engagement rings and fine jewelry experts at Mark Broumand, analyzed Google searches over the last 12 months to find which states search for the most “romantic” items. Phrases like “engagement ring“, “romantic getaways”, “florists near me”, and “romantic restaurants” are among those used to determine a state’s level of romance. The results were then compared to the population of each state to reveal the rate of searches per 100,000 residents.
Here are the 5 top romantic states where you could find your next love connection!
Most Romantic States
1. New Jersey
New Jersey hails as the most romantic state in all of the U.S. Residents of the state are searching for “wedding venues” more than any other romantic term. “Romantic restaurants” and “wedding venues near me” round out the top three searched phrases.
2. Delaware
Over in Delaware, residents are searching for engagement rings at a large volume, making them second on the list. The research shows that this was searched upwards of 2,000 times per month.
3. New York
The slogan “I love New York,” makes sense when you consider that the state is the third most romantic state in the country. Although many residents are searching for similar phrases as the top two winners, New York is unique in that many people are searching for “romantic movies.” Rightfully so, because who doesn’t love a good love story on screen?
4. Massachusetts
In Massachusetts, residents are looking for love and marriage. Some of the top searched phrases are “engagement rings and “florists near m.”
5. Pennsylvania
Rounding out the list at number 5 is Pennsylvania. Residents in the state are looking to get married and fast. Searches for “wedding venues near me” averaged at about 14,000 hits per month. Maybe residents of the state know something that no one else does!
