NextLight recognized among 'Best Tech Brands for 2024'

Feb. 5—Longmont's fiber internet provider, NextLight, recently received an honorable mention in PC Magazine's list of "Best Tech Brands for 2024."

The rankings were based on customer satisfaction and product reviews.

Because PC Magazine does not typically do product reviews for internet service providers, entities such as NextLight don't generally make the list of best tech brands. However, given that NextLight was recognized as the top home and business internet service provider in PC Magazine's 2023 Readers' Choice Awards, the publication made sure to give NextLight an honorable mention on its best tech brands list, too.

"When we performed our annual Readers' Choice survey, the people of Longmont went above and beyond when scoring their local (internet service provider) to make sure we knew exactly how they felt about it, for both work and home use," PC Magazine noted. "A customer satisfaction level this high is worth mention."

NextLight's average net promoter score, which reflects how likely survey respondents are to recommend a service to a friend or colleague, amounted to 99 out of 100.

Twenty-five brands including Apple, Sony, Google, and Microsoft were featured on the list of best tech brands along with two honorable mentions.

Nearly 680 brands were considered.

Bitdefender, an anti-malware service, received the highest tech brand ranking.

NextLight signed up its first customers in 2014 and currently has a take rate of around 60% with about 26,500 customers, according to Scott Rochat, NextLight public relations and marketing specialist.

A customer is not an individual but rather a home or business. Therefore, one customer may actually represent several NextLight users.

Rochat said NextLight is always evaluating the opportunity to grow beyond the city limits and that it will be providing service just north of Colo. 66 to the Anhawa and Strawberry Circle neighborhoods very soon.

"The continued recognition of NextLight's internet service is a testament to the service our team members provide, the care of and investment in our network, and the overwhelming support of our valued residents," Valerie Dodd, NextLight executive director, said in a news release.

"This brings home what our customers have known for years: that when they connect to NextLight, they get a local provider with national quality."
