Nexus Real Estate Group sends deserving teacher on getaway

Apr. 28—THOMASVILLE — Teachers are leaving the profession in droves. According to the National Real Estate Association, "A staggering 55 percent of educators are thinking about leaving the profession earlier than they had planned." Realtors at Nexus Real Estate Group want teachers to leave — but only for a well-deserved vacation.

One morning during a strategic planning session Jill Higgins, Kris Rhodes, and Matt Santoro, owners of the community-oriented real estate group, knew they wanted to do something special for a local teacher.

After debating a few options, it was agreed upon that a vacation getaway to the destination of their choice was a great way to reward a local teacher.

Leveraging the powers of social media, Nexus invited community members with an opportunity to nominate their favorite teachers. Once nominations were received, entries were placed online for voting by the general public. The winner would be the teacher with the most overall votes.

Nexus Real Estate Group is proud to announce that Joy Knop, a Social Studies teacher and cross country coach at Scholars Academy, was recently awarded a vacation package through Nexus' "Thomasville's Top Teacher Vacation Giveaway." Mrs. Knop received a staggering 470 votes. One of her voters commented, "Joy Knop is the absolute best teacher, coach, motivator, encourager and all around best person. She totally deserves this! We love her to pieces!"
