5:55 p.m. | Round 6 recap: Buccaneers take another TE; two more Florida high schoolers picked, including UCF player

After picking tight end Cade Otton to start the day, Tampa Bay got another one at No. 218 overall. The Buccaneers took Ko Kieft out of Minnesota with their sixth-round pick.

A UCF player got off the board late in the round when former Knight Kalia Davis was chosen by the San Francisco 49ers. The defensive tackle, who played high school football at West Florida High School in Pensacola, will join a defense anchored by star Nick Bosa.

Earlier in the round, another defensive tackle and Florida high school product was selected by the New Orleans Saints. Jordan Jackson, a Jacksonville native and Bolles High graduate who played college football at Air Force, was the 194th overall pick.

4 p.m. | Two Florida high schoolers picked in Round 5

We're now up to 19 Florida high schoolers taken in the NFL Draft. Let's get caught up.

In the fifth round, the New York Giants, with the third pick, took Indiana linebacker Micah McFadden. McFadden played at Tampa's Henry B. Plant High, making him the second Plant grad to go this year. The first was wide receiver Christian Watson, who went from Plant to North Dakota State to the Green Bay Packers.

2 p.m. | Update: Bucs take a punter; Dolphins grab Texas Tech wideout

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers decided to grab a punter in the fourth round, and by doing so, helped the Georgia Bulldogs set a record.

The Bucs took Georgia's Jake Camarda with pick No. 28 in Round 4. Camarda became the 11th Bulldog to go in the 2022 draft, setting a program record. LSU and Ohio State hold the record for most overall -- 14, both in 2020.

Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins picked wide receiver Erik Ezukanma of Texas Tech with pick No. 20 in Round 4. Ezukanma was known for good vertical speed, according to ESPN, and has good size at 6-foot-2.

12:15 p.m. | Florida Gators running back Dameon Pierce goes to the Texans; Buccaneers take a tight end

Another Gator gone! Running back Dameon Pierce goes to the Houston Texans with the second pick of round 2.

Pierce, a tough runner who scored 13 touchdowns for the Florida Gators in 2021, will likely serve as depth behind Marlon Mack initially.

In a move referred to by NFL Network's Ian Rappaport as "Gronk insurance," the Tampa Bay Buccaneers took Washington tight end Cade Otton with the first pick of Round 4.

Otton, a 6-foot-5, 250-pound tight end, was first-team All-Pac 12 in 2020. He was picked by the Bucs with the uncertainty over the contract of Rob Gronkowski.

11:45 a.m. | Here we go with Day 3 and the Bucs are on the clock

It's deja vu all over again, as Yogi Berra supposedly said.

Just as they did on Day 2, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers open things on Day 3 of the NFL Draft.

Needs include cornerback, where there is uncertainty around the contracts of Jamel Dean and Sean Murphy Bunting, and tight end, because Rob Gronkowski hasn't signed a new deal yet.

Day 2 | Friday

11:55 p.m. | Total Florida high-schoolers after 2 days: 11

If you're keeping up with the Florida high school players getting selected in the NFL Draft, you saw there was a flurry of picks toward the end of Round 3.

First, we saw Zachary Carter, the Florida Gators defensive tackle, going to the Cincinnati Bengals; he played at Hillsborough High in Tampa. Next, defensive back Kerby Joseph, who played in college at Illinois, ended up with the Detroit Lions. He played for Jones High in Orlando.

Finally came Myjai Sanders, a defensive end from the University of Cincinnati, taken by the Arizona Cardinals. Sanders began his high school career at Raines High in Jacksonville before moving over the Georgia state line and playing for Camden County.

That brings the total of Florida high-schoolers taken this season to 11. And there's one day left.

11:30 p.m. | Miami Dolphins take Georgia's Channing Tindall with their first pick

After 101 picks and nearly two full days, the Miami Dolphins finally, finally got their first pick of the NFL Draft. And they decided on a strategy that plenty of others have employed.

Take someone from the Georgia Bulldogs' national championship defense.

The Dolphins selected Channing Tindall, a linebacker. Tindall didn't start often for the Bulldogs, but that was no fault of his own, considering six of his teammates were also drafted in the past two days.

Tindall is a 6-foot-2, 230-pound linebacker with the kind of speed that may allow the Dolphins to keep Jerome Baker playing to his strength, the outside rush.

11 p.m. | Gator gone: Zachary Carter drafted by Cincinnati

It's late, but there's still a lot of picks to be had. And one of the Florida Gators' top defenders has landed with a really solid team.

9:55 p.m. | Jaguars jump right back in, take Wyoming LB Chad Muma at No. 70

That didn't take long.

Muma was a finalist for the Butkus Award for top linebacker, and was All-Mountain West two years in a row.

9 p.m. | Tampa Bay Buccaneers take Central Michigan tackle in Round 2

Referred to on NFL Network as "one of the nastiest offensive linemen available", tackle Luke Goedeke from Central Michigan went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the 25th pick of the second round.

Goedeke is a 6-foot-5, 310-pound tackle who was first-team All-MAC in the 2021 season.

Since high school, Jacksonville Jaguars No. 1 draft choice Travon Walker has known quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the Jaguars' No. 1 pick in 2021, and cornerback Tyson Campbell is a former teammate at Georgia.

"I’d have to say I’m pretty close with Trevor. I’ve known him ever since high school, so I feel like he’ll be somebody who takes me under his wing,'' Walker said. ''I came on my top-30 visit, he was working out, he ran up to me, so I just feel like we already have that bond. I have Tyson Campbell here as well to help me.”

More on Travon Walker's first visit to Jacksonville's media can be found here.

7:40 p.m. | Third Florida high-schooler goes: Christian Watson to the Pack

Christian Watson became the third Florida high-schooler to go in the NFL Draft this season, going to the Green Bay Packers in the second round.

Watson, who played at Tampa's Henry B. Plant High School, headed up to college at North Dakota State and used his 6-foot-4 frame and big-time speed to get on scouts' radar. Now he's going to catch passes from Aaron Rodgers. Not bad.

Watson, whose father Tim Watson played with the Packers and three other teams, joined Evan Neal and Kaiir Elam as Florida high schoolers taken so far.

7:20 p.m. | Buccaneers pick Houston DT Logan Hall with first pick in Round 2

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn't waste time and went after need, picking Houston defensive tackle Logan Hall with the first pick of the second round.

Hall grew up in Oklahoma, and made 13 tackles for loss in his senior season in 2021. He was named All-American Athletic Conference.
