NFL playoff picks: Conference championship games

Sunday, Jan. 30

AFC Championship Game:

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Kansas City Chiefs, 1 p.m., CBS

The Bengals beat the Chiefs in Week 17 in Cincinnati, 34-31, proving they can stay with, and even beat, Kansas City. We think this one will be close, but look for Patrick Mahomes to deliver late to help Kansas City advance to another Super Bowl and end the Bengals' magical run.

Prediction: Chiefs 38, Bengals 35

NFL playoff odds: Conference championship games

Will Matthew Stafford lead the Los Angeles Rams past the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game?

NFC Championship Game

San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams, 4:30 p.m. Fox

The 49ers won both matchups against the Rams this season, handing Los Angeles two of its five losses. The 49ers won in Los Angeles to conclude the regular season and feel very much at home at SoFi Stadium. We have a feeling that Matthew Stafford and the Rams, however, will get the job done this time at home in a close one.

Prediction: Rams 28, 49ers 27
