The Arizona Cardinals did not play in NFL Week 12.
They earned a lot of praise from NFL writers anyway.
The Cardinals, who hold an NFL-best 9-2 record, are No. 1 in several early NFL power rankings entering NFL Week 13.
Writers heaped a lot of praise on Arizona in those early power rankings, with one saying the team could be in "a tier of its own," and another writing that the Cardinals deserve "to be called the best team in the NFL."
Check out what they are saying about the Cardinals entering NFL Week 13, a week in which Arizona travels to face the Chicago Bears on the road.
Pro Football Network: Arizona Cardinals remain No. 1 in NFL power rankings
Dalton Miller writes: "The Cardinals’ bye week came at a great time. Kyler Murray hasn’t played football for a month after injuring his ankle late against the Packers, and DeAndre Hopkins has been on the mend for weeks. Arizona needed health to maintain its high standing in the NFL Power Rankings moving forward. But make no mistake, even with the injuries, they’ve proven worthy of holding the top spot. Going 2-1 without their two star offensive players in divisional games against a desperate Russell Wilson and a 49ers team looking to make a playoff push was enough to feel good about the Cardinals as is. With Murray and Hopkins back, they could legitimately be the only team on a tier of their own. That’s something we haven’t said all season."

NFL Spin Zone: Arizona Cardinals continue to be No. 1 in NFL power rankings
Randy Gurzi writes: "The final team to suffer a loss in 2021 was the Arizona Cardinals. That came in Week 8 when they were defeated 24-21 by the Green Bay Packers. It was nearly another win as well for the Cards as they moved the ball into the red zone but then, Kyler Murray threw a bad pick as he and A.J. Green were on different pages. Even worse, Murray was injured on the play and suddenly, the Cardinals season seemed to be in trouble. That is, until Colt McCoy came into the game. McCoy has gone 2-1 as the starter for Arizona which has kept them ahead of everyone in the NFC. Now, the Cardinals enter the bye week in Week 12 and it comes at a great time. They’re still the No. 1 seed and could get their best players, including Murray, healthy for the final five games of the season. And in those five games, they have some tough contests including a game against the Los Angeles Rams, a Christmas Day contest with the Indianapolis Colts, and one in Week 17 against Dallas. They do also have some that should go in their favor such as games with the Bears and Lions, but they need to beat those top teams to make sure to finish out what has been an extraordinary season."
Sporting News: Arizona Cardinals once again No. 1 in NFL power rankings
Vinnie Iyer writes: "The Cardinals rolled into their Week 12 bye with the best record in the NFL, managing their offense well without Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins and Chase Edmonds. They should get healthier offensively and remain well-rounded defensively. They need to focus on pulling away in their two-team NFC West race with the Rams."
Fansided: Arizona Cardinals get No. 1 spot in NFL power rankings again
Russell S. Baxter writes: "Kliff Kingsbury’s club entered its off week with the best record in the league and assured of a winning season for the first time since 2015. The NFC West leaders have overcome their share of injuries, especially as of late with the likes of quarterback Kyler Murray and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins missing time. The Cardinals’ defense has been a pleasant surprise and the club is a perfect 6-0 on the road and 4-0 vs. their divisional rivals this season."
Sportnaut: Arizona Cardinals keep hold on No. 1 in NFL power rankings
Matt Johnson writes: "Kliff Kingsbury is the NFL Coach of the Year, there is no race for the award. A 2-1 record without Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins is incredible. The Arizona Cardinals control their destiny coming out of bye week and are getting healthy. With a great defense and Murray expected back in Week 13, Arizona deserves to be called the best team in the NFL."
NBC Sports: Arizona Cardinals land No. 1 ranking in NFL power rankings again
Josh Schrock writes: "Lincoln Riley going to USC was a quick and easy way for Kliff Kingsbury’s agent to secure a raise for his client. You don’t actually think the guy with a 9-2 record and a generational QB is going to leave the NFL to go to Norman, do you?"
