NFL power rankings Week 4: Philadelphia Eagles, Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars rise

Almost every NFL team has played three games this season and in our latest NFL power rankings we've been forced to make some major adjustments based on what we have seen during those three weeks of play.

No longer can we rank the teams by how good we think they are going to be this season … now we are ranking them by how good they have been.

Some teams have  been big surprises (Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars), while others have been major disappointments (Las Vegas Raiders, Tennessee Titans, Cincinnati Bengals).

These rankings could take another big turn after Week 4, but here's how every team in the NFL ranks after Week 3's games.

Check out how we rank the 32 teams in the NFL heading into Week 4 of the 2022-23 season, from lowest to highest. Previous ranking in parenthesis.

NFL Week 4 picks, predictions:

32. Las Vegas Raiders (21)

We think the Raiders could actually be a decent team this season, but they are the only 0-3 team in the NFL. The worst record in the league puts them last in our NFL power rankings after Week 3.

31. Houston Texans (30)

This team has been in all three games it has played so far this season, but is 0-2-1. Might the Texans' luck change in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers?

30. Carolina Panthers (31)

Maybe we should be higher on Carolina after their 22-14 win over the New Orleans Saints. We will be if they beat the Arizona Cardinals in Week 4.

29. New York Jets (29)

The Jets are interestingly 0-2 at home and 1-0 on the road. They play the Steelers in Pittsburgh in a winnable Week 4 game.

NFL Week 4 odds:

28. Seattle Seahawks (28)

It could end up being a long season for the Seahawks after they lost to the Atlanta Falcons at home, 27-23.

27. Atlanta Falcons (32)

This team isn't … bad? Atlanta lost its first two games by a total of five points before beating the Seahawks in Seattle in Week 3.

26. Tennessee Titans (26)

Maybe the Titans deserve to move up in the rankings after a 24-22 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, but the Raiders are the NFL's only 0-3 team, so we're keeping Tennessee right here.

25. New England Patriots (25)

The Patriots are just 1-2 on the season and now have to questions about quarterback Mac Jones after he left the game against the Baltimore Ravens with an injury.

24. Washington Commanders (17)

The Carson Wentz experiment in Washington is not off to a great start as the Commanders have now dropped two straight games.

23. Pittsburgh Steelers (15)

The Steelers are just a game behind the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North, but it feels like so much more.

22. New Orleans Saints (14)

The Saints have to get more from their offense, which has scored just 24 points over the last two weeks, both losses.

21. Arizona Cardinals (13)

This team has issues that Kyler Murray appeared to mask in Week 2, but couldn't be masked in the Cardinals' two losses. DeAndre Hopkins can't return soon enough.

20. Los Angeles Chargers (5)

We thought the Chargers could be special this season and they still have time to be, but they have not impressed so far this season. Justin Herbert's health is key for the franchise's chances in 2022.

19. Detroit Lions (12)

Detroit is just 1-2 on the season, but it has outscored its opponents, 95-93. If the defense can take a step forward, this team could still be in the NFC North race.

18. San Francisco 49ers (10)

We had to drop the 49ers after that 11-10 loss to the Denver Broncos. The San Francisco offense, needless to say, did not impress.

17. Cincinnati Bengals (16)

This team got a much-needed win over the New York Jets, but the Bengals face the Miami Dolphins in Week 4 and the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5.

16. Indianapolis Colts (27)

The Colts couldn't afford to drop to 0-2-1 on the season and they didn't with the win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Matt Ryan still doesn't look like Matt Ryan in Indianapolis.

15. New York Giants (24)

A 9-spot jump for a team that just lost? Yes. The Giants deserve to be rewarded for being 2-1, although they are our lowest ranked 2-1 team in the league.

14. Chicago Bears (22)

It hasn't been pretty, but the Bears have somehow found a way to start 2-1. We're not sold on Chicago's chances in the NFC North quite yet, but that division could be anyone's this season.

13. Dallas Cowboys (18)

All QB Cooper Rush apparently does is win. He's 3-0 as a starter in the NFL.

12. Denver Broncos (20)

We're not high on the Broncos, but they did just somehow beat the San Francisco 49ers to move to 2-1. It hasn't been pretty, that's for sure, but 2-1 is 2-1.

11. Cleveland Browns (19)

What happens if Jacoby Brissett continues to lead Cleveland to wins before Deshaun Watson's suspension ends?

10. Minnesota Vikings (11)

The new offense for the Vikings still hasn't found its footing. It will be a very tough out when it does.

9. Jacksonville Jaguars (23)

The Jaguars are already just one win away from matching last season's win total and look poised to win a lot more games after that.

8. Green Bay Packers (9)

We're still not sold on the Packers this season without Davante Adams in the passing game. More wins like their win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, however, will change our mind.

7. Baltimore Ravens (8)

Lamar Jackson continues to be electric,. If the Baltimore defense improves and if Jackson stays healthy, the sky could really be the limit for the Ravens.

6. Los Angeles Rams (6)

Maybe the Super Bowl champions should be a little higher, but they have been outscored 61-70 on the season, in spite of their 2-1 record.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3)

The offense is ailing, but the Tampa Bay defense is going to give the Buccaneers a chance to win a lot of games this season, especially when Tom Brady gets some wide receivers back.

4. Kansas City Chiefs (2)

We did not envision the Chiefs losing to the Colts in Week 3. That's the magic of the NFL. Almost anyone can beat almost anyone on any given Sunday (or Thursday, or Monday).

3. Buffalo Bills (1)

Nothing wrong with a close loss to the Miami Dolphins. This team still figures to have a huge say in the AFC Conference race, but it does have some secondary issues to address.

2. Miami Dolphins (7)

We probably had Miami ranked too low last week. The Dolphins are the lone undefeated team in the AFC and deserving of this spot after beating the Buffalo Bills in Week 2. Maybe they should even be No. 1.

1. Philadelphia Eagles (4)

The Eagles are 3-0 and look to be the cream of the NFC East, and maybe the NFC, right now. People thought that Jalen Hurts might take a leap this season and he has not disappointed, but the defense has shined as well.
